Achievements

For this reading group we are trying something new. You may sign up in this thread to earn achievements for posting in the reading group. Some achievements will be available for everyone and others will be rewarded to one person. There will be achievements awarded for each chapter as well as ones awarded at the end of the reading group. This is still in the planning stages so it is very likely there will me more achievements added as the reading group progresses.

The achievements will be awarded in the form of graphics. Each achievement will be available as an avatar. You will also get a graphic that will display all of your achievements.

Posting Achievements:
First Poster - awarded to the first person to post after a thread is opened. Worth 2 points
Super Poster - awarded to anyone who answer every question in a thread. Worth 3 points
Poster - awarded to anyone who posts in a thread but does not answer all of the questions or did not earn the First Poster award. Worth 1 point

Substance Achievements:
Questioner - awarded to people who ask their own questions. Worth 1 point
Discussion Starter - awarded to people whose answers spark discussion. Worth 1 point
Quality - awarded to one person in each thread. The quality will be evaluated on thoroughness of answers and deep thinking. It is not based on word count. Worth 2 points

End of the Reading Group Achievements:
Reepicheep Award: Given to the first person to post in every chapter of the reading group. Worth 4 points
Pevensies Award: Given to people who post in every chapter but didn't get the Reepicheep Award. Worth 3 points
Pittencream "Award" Given to anyone who does not finish the journey (by posting in every chapter. Worth 0 Points

Achievements based on points:
Aslan Award: Given to the person with the highest score
Captain Award: Given to the person with the second highest score
First Mate Award: Given to the person with the third highest score
Sailor Award: Given to everyone else who has points.

The deadline to be in the running for the Quality award from each chapter is one year after the questions were posted. If only one person has posted in that thread, they automatically receive the Quality award. If no one has posted in that thread, the Quality Award is awarded to the High Moderator.

If you would like to earn achievements, please reply to this post. You will only receive achievements if you reply to this post. After that, all you have to do is post in the reading group. The mods will take care of all the rest. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

The awarding of the achievements is likely to be rather fluid until the reading group ends so expect changes. I hope to award achievements fairly close to when they are earned so new achievements can be added (especially ones like Discussion Starter and Quality). For now I just have a couple of avatar sized achievements done. Later I will put them on the display graphic. Feel free to use these as your avatar or however else you may want.

It occurred to me I left something important off of my first post in this thread:
Warning: These shield have no protective or magical qualities. They will have no effect if you lay them on Aslan's Table or if you try to use them to stave off an attack.

No, Problem Verna. I'll make sure you get all achievements. Take your time - as long as the threads are open most achievements can still be earned.

Here are the first installments of the "display graphic." It will change often so if you want to download it each step of the way you need to do it right away. I will be deleting them from photobucket when I change them. The lovely display graphic was drawn by our very own Meltintalle.
