Is the absence of sunlight being caused by rainy weather or time of day?

Doesn't the absence of sunlight depend more on latitude and the season of the year, rather than the time of day?

Who had a blackout and how did it affect their timepieces?
“Not all of us can choose what we give up. The things we love are taken or are never ours at all. If we’re lucky, life is defined not by what we let go, but what we let in: friendship and kind words, frailty and hope.”

Don't you have similar problems with electricity supply being cut off due to storms, accidents and heavy demand?

Are the accidents in question related to the heavy demand or the storms?

Does anyone know if there are more power surges due to demand or weather?
Some days you battle yourself and other monsters.
Some days you just make soup.

Isn't surge something that happens when too much electricity shorts out fragile electrical appliances?

Would you still use words which might have more than one meaning in USA, if you knew that elsewhere in the English-speaking world, those words might only have the one meaning?

Might that not lead to a potentially embarrassing situation when an Englishman such as myself visits America and says something which has a perfectly innocent meaning in England but which has another, less savoury meaning over there?

Doesn't the same sort of thing happen when people from UK and USA visit Australia or New Zealand?
