Rockmelon (or cantaloupe). For a lovely no-fuss summer dessert, halve your rockmelon, hollow out the seeds, cut into desired pieces if necessary, and put a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in the centre of the curve. Bliss!

In late spring (October/November) Grafton, NSW, has a festival to celebrate the blooming of the jacarandas you see above. But they blossom everywhere else, including where I am, and are really lovely to look at whatever the mess these purplish blossoms can make on the pavements.

Would you please fetch a nice photo of Niagara Falls? Thank you.
