So, the two segments I just posted ARE different from each other... read closely.

Anways, for simplicity's sake, Silvan_Haven when Alex starts interacting with your characters, lets just assume that both alternate reality Alexs react in the same way so I only have to write one of them and you only have to respond to one. Good? Good.

However, I'm not going to make any such promises to 'gazer.

And I'm enjoying everyone's new posts. Silvan_Haven, I think you're going to fit in well here. Just let me know if something I write is wrong. (Your characters do look like Androids, don't they?) Rya, I loved your description of Eric's awakening. I can tell you actually understand the mythology! And shastastwin, I can't wait to see where you're going with this. My only suggestion is don't use Number 6 too much, or it will diminish his mystery, power, and impact. To sum up, wow this story is moving! Also:

I still have to write two more alternate realities from Erica's perspective where the Silvermoons are dead and she's back on Earth... she'll be in Ditto Town by the end of both those segments though. Then perhaps I can help Rya get Alex out of the predicament I left him in.

Oh, very nice, Ara. I'm glad you at least mentioned Max and the drakes in one so I could tell which 'verse we were in.

Number 6 will be around, but likely not in very many segments. We shall see.

Now, to figure out if, how, and when to demonstrate the various realities to my characters.

Fun segments, Aravanna! I chuckled at the antics of the fairy dragons and the conversation about astrophysics.

And I noticed the difference. It inspired me to write a soon-to-be posted segment updating events in the other universes

To make things simpler I'm going to say that they only arrived in the Prime reality. They arived after the split happened so they did not get caught up in it.

Yes they look like androids. They have things like brains and hearts but you can't tell that they have any organic part by looking at them.

That has to be the most depressing post I've ever put up on the Ditto Story. I'm going to bed now.

Ara, when I read that, I couldn't help laughing. Then I read your story post and I have to agree.

I'm a little confused here. From what I saw there it looked like the disaster had happened in both worlds. If the disaster never happened then that fairy dragon would never had done the whole teleport thing and killed herself.

Most certanly, Stargazer. Still a little confused though. People who were there in the prime universe go poof in a non-existant cloud of interdimensional smoke and still exist in the split universe.

I do see the chance for some more direct interaction between the two universes though. As well as a bit of explanation for the characters that only know of the split unverse thing as a theory.

Thanks 'gazer and shastastwin! And I can see why my post was funny, now that I reread it. If I'm going to kill off my favorite character, the least I could do is write it well.

Silvan_Haven, I THINK I know what you're confused about.

Okay, Val (fairy dragon that just died) is able to teleport between the Dittoverse and Earth, and has done it several times throughout the story. Clearly something was different this time because it killed her, but she and Erica didn't just poof out of existence. To clarify, the alternate realities each include every world in them. So Ditto Town AND Earth will be shades different in each reality, but connected in each reality in the same way.

Wow, I'm gone for a weekend and the story explodes with activity! (No pun intended. ) Now I have three timelines (the afternoon, evening at the Emporium, and the alternate universe) to write for, so I'm sorry if my responses are delayed!

So, now we have at least four alternate realities--two where the Emporium never blew up (one with Molly, one with Max), and two where it did (one where Erica received the mystery visitor, the other where it was just the fairy dragons). And aside from those differences I just mentioned, each of those sets of two are basically the same... right? (I'm just trying to make sure I've got it all straight. Reading all of these alternate universe segments in a row can sure make life interesting. )

I hope to have a post up soon! EDIT: Scratch that; one's up. Just a note: Ryana suggested the Ditto Mansion pretty strictly because neither she nor I can think of much else. Does anyone else have good suggestions?

Kudos, by the way, to Aravanna and shastastwin for your recent posts...keeping the various 'verses straight can be confusing even for those of us in on the plotting!

Your summary of the different realities is basically sound, Ryadian...though I may be about to introduce a couple additional changes.

Note that the colors of my story segments have significance. Just sayin'...

I have to admit that I am really struggling getting caught up with the ditto story. It's taking me a lot longer than I thought I would for various reasons, but I am trying. Sorry guys. I feel really bad about taking so long.

No worries 'kat. I think this is the fastest the story has moved in years. I'm glad I've been around, or it would be incredibly hard to catch up.

And 'gazer, the colors I chose really don't mean much. Maybe when we get all the alternate universes ironed out, I'll go back and change all my colors to match yours. If you don't mind of course.

And my latest post was a lot words in which nothing happened. Hopefully I can get Alex to stop feeling sorry for himself and do something!
