Narnian Jewelry

Postby Rose_Amelie » Oct 10, 2009 4:33 pm

I really want to open again this topic (existed in the old forum, so...)
This place is for Narnian Jewelry, all jewels that could be used or created in Narnia, I mean necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, tiaras, crowns, etc.
:)

Here is my contribution in this first post:

Would it be ok to share a picture of the version of Queen Susan's coronation crown that I constructed?

Hi Meltintalle,

I am glad you liked it. The entire crown was based upon the description & pictures posted in "The Wardrobe Door". I purchased all of my supplies from local craft stores. I used gold tone jewelry charms for the leaves and glass beads to form the petals of the daffodils. Cone shaped bead stops formed the center cup of the flower. Then I glued them together. Unfortunately, I was not able to find yellow beads. I painted them yellow. Everything was wired and glued to a circular wire base. I overlapped everything as I went around the entire crown to give it a finished look. I hope everyone enjoys the picture.

I crafted one other jewelry piece. It is my version of the Coronation Lion Pin. It is not an identical replica of the original as was the case with Queen Susan’s Crown. I did enjoy putting it together anyway. I hope everyone enjoys it.

If anyone is interested in the construction of Queen Lucy’s crown, here is some information I found.

I hope the information is helpful.

I don't remember seeing that necklace in the movie. Who wore it?

I think that I've seen that design somewhere... at a local arts department store called Michaels. I actually bought it because it looked so much like Aslan!

Almost any local arts and crafts store will have random pendants, necklaces, etc., that can be creatively used to create Narnian jewelry. For example, I was at a store called Michaels, a craft store, and they had a lion pendant that looked very much like Aslan. Usually those type of things- flowers and animals especially- are in those stores.

I did buy the lion at Michaels. It is a pendant charm I wired on top of an existing brooch I had in my jewelry chest don't wear. I have also purchased other items at A.C. Moore.

I have begun searching for Narnian jewelry similar to any of the seals or imagery of Aslan in the films. Does anyone have any pictures of things they have found?

I would prefer to find a seal or medallion similar to the seal on top of the standard in this photo.
