Question about an idiom

Postby blathmacssong » Jul 23, 2010 10:18 am

I know this is seemingly random, but I need the infomation for an upcoming sermon (of all things).

Does C.S. Lewis ever have one of the characters called either "a good fig" or "a bad fig" in the Chronicles?

If so, who, when, and where?

If not, do you remember such a quote from any of his other works?

Thanks! in advance.

Hm. I don't think so. Edmund calls his siblings prigs in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but I don't think fig is ever used. I don't remember that phrase being in any of his other works that I have read (Till We Have Faces, the Space Trilogy, Screwtape Letters, and The Great Divorce), but I can't say about the other ones. Hope that helps!

No, not in the Chronicles.

Best wishes with the sermon!
