Hey Narnia_lover127,
thanks for the comment!, much appreciated.. I can't beleive the skirt/cloak is over a year old now.. lol.. but I work really hard to keep my costumes safely stored away so they won't get ruined in the future.. and

I'll be taking better pics of the battle dress costume sometime soon as well.. I made a blonde wig for it (from yarn) to match the color of the fur mane that's worn around her throat.. that should be fun to wear.. >.< ^_^

Is no one here interested in hats? I'm sure these costumes are lovely and all, but the hat? Ah, there is a noble artifact. A wardrobe without a hat isn't a wardrobe at all. It should go and hide behind its more noble cousins and rue the day it ever ventured into the world without a lovely bit of millinery. I recommend something with lots of lace. And perhaps sparkles. One can never have enough sparkles.

Peter and Caspian finally debuted! Admittedly they're incomplete so maybe this is more like 90% finished progress report. By this summer we plan to have them 100% finished and with a Susan and Edmund as well!

Peter & Caspian Headshot
Caspian & ???

That third one is an obscure reference for certain. Maybe you can guess what it is.

I retook some pics of my Jadis battle dress and added my sword.. The pics are ok.. but I still think the dress is kinda lame, the fur and my hair are too different in color.. Tilda's looked so much better.. :/

that, or maybe I'm too much of a perfectionest.. :S

I've just bought a couple of patterns as our fabric & pattern shop had a half-price sale.
Both Simplicity, one blatantly POTC but has some good pieces for Telmarine sailors such as knee britches, long vest with high neck, and shirt with full sleeves (Nr 4923), and the other a good general shirt with very full sleeves and the front and backs also very gathered onto a yoke (Nr 3758).

In case anyone is looking.

Yay! Today I bought fabric, pattern, and buttons to make my Lucy tunic. And yes, I do think I have enough time to finish it!

~~ The fabric I got was red wool suiting, I'd say lightweight. Very close to what the actual tunic is made from, I think.
~~ Buttons - not so nice as Susan's_look_a_like got (see her post in Lucy in VDT); mine are silver-colored, flat, with a scrolling pattern - by La Mode.
~~ I bought a vest pattern to save time, but I will modify it extensively. I chose Buttrick's 5888, and will use "Vest D" as my base.

Since it's been several weeks, I hope it's OK if I go ahead and double-post here? If not, just let me know and I'll fix it right away! :)

I did finish my Lucy tunic it time to wear it to my viewing of VDT. Here's a look at my costume!

Sadly, I didn't think of getting a picture in front of the poster at the theater until it was too late. And yes, my hair is covering the corner! Must take more/better photos, including of the back...

Here's a bit more:
Sewing on the "For Looks Only" buttons in a fast food place just before the movie!
Fooling around
The final pattern for the front pieces - that's the lining I'm cutting out.

Yes, I did end up using a lining. I do think from this picture (and from watching the shot where she spins in the snow in the 1st trailer) that the original does have a lining which is the exact color of the outer material. I had to go with what I had on hand - a brown linen leftover from lining Lizzle's cape. It does match the color of the sleeves Lucy wears sometimes. ;;) :p
Really, I could go on and on about the ways it's different from Lucy's. And obviously it's a lot plainer. No embroidery or trim. I will be doing some embroidery on it later, hopefully. But I do really like how it turned out. :D

Ooooooooh Adeona, lovely work!

Today I realised I have Prince Caspian hair, and I threw together a little costume. I'll try to see if I can get any good pictures. :p

I'm hoping to make an Edmund costume, though it may take a while, what with money being a little tight. (Especially since I have to save for a custom-made Narnian flag. I'll try and post it when I have it.) One of my major complaints is that while they made Peter's sword, they did not make his shield, or scabbard, or anything of Edmund's. I suppose I can substitute Strider's Ranger Sword, though that may not go over well.....

One of my major problems is that I can't stand the idea of wearing fake armor, and real armor isn't cheap. A tabard is simple enough, but chain-mail, a helmet, a belt, pauldrons, gauntlets, ankle and wrist protection, proper boots - it all adds up.

On a side note, very lovely work Adeona. :)

The Just King- you could make some of the armor with leather that you can get from http://www.joann.com/joann/home/home.jsp(in search criteria enter "leather") and make some of the pieces with that and get other pieces of real armor separately
