LOL, thanks for catching that DeW. Apparently my basic math skills aren't what they used to be. You're right, she's 9 now and was 8 at the time of filming.

DeW, Welcome to Narnia web!!! Your right about her age. She'll be ten this November, so she was actually 8 at the time of the filming.

Re: Gael - Arabella Morton
Interesting point, Liberty! I wonder if they have cast her on her looking similar to Georgie, either as a deliberate sentimental ploy or else because it's going to remind Edmund of his little sister when she was first in Narnia - I will watch out for this idea coming through.
“Not all of us can choose what we give up. The things we love are taken or are never ours at all. If we’re lucky, life is defined not by what we let go, but what we let in: friendship and kind words, frailty and hope.”

^^ you mean Jill Pole in BBC? kind of.....
coracle: I like your idea about her looking like Lucy to remind Edmund of when Lucy was little in LWW.....but what would that bring out if they actaully did that in the movie?

Re: Gael - Arabella Morton
First of all I will say I don't like the idea of Gael being in this film, and I won't change my mind untill I see footage that may prove me otherwise. I have no idea what role this girl plays in terms of the plot or whether she's a Narnian tag a long, a slave from the Lone Islands, a lost Mer Girl, or the future LotGK.
But regardless of who she is, these are the reasons why I think she was added into the movies.
A. They needed a "Friend for Lucy" in this film. The first film had her strong bond with Mr. Tumnus, and the second had the "cute" relationship with Trumpkin. Since Lucy has less to do in VotDT and since there is no major friend in the books, the filmakers decided to create Gael. Having Gael draws in the cute family angle, and it gives younger kids someone to relate to. In LWW, little kids had Lucy to root for, but in PC they were all a bunch of moody teenagers. Gael would change that.
B. They want a "love interest" for Eustace. Now I HATE the very idea of this, but I can totally see it happening. Eustace is mean to her when he's bad, but after his redemption he becomes nice to her and they form a cute Little Rascals like romance. I don't know if they'd kiss or not, but this kind of thing happens a lot in movies.
So what do you all think? Could these be the reasons for this "Mysterious Little Girl"?

Re: Gael - Arabella Morton
I can't see the love interest angle happening. She is way too young, and we already know that she develops some sort of bond with Lucy, and her *possibly* father Rhince is also on board the ship. Eustace being interested in her would add too much tension I would imagine.
In my opinion, she has probably been added to be a friend to Lucy, like you mentioned. However, I think it will go deeper than that. The relationship she has with Lucy will probably serve to develop Lucy's character in some way. If not Lucy, she will have some impact on the story. I refuse to believe that they would throw in a completely new character (and one who definitely will be part of a new subplot) just to have an added "cute factor." Her addition will have some sort of impact on the story/characters.

I can kinda imagine them making Eustace like Gael, but I would find it kinda wierd...I'd be happier with the idea of her being the future LotGK

Re: Gael - Arabella Morton
^^yeah it would not be good. It would be creepy. On another note, she does look like Georige. It could be to remind Ed of Lucy when she was younger. Maybe there's a part in the movie when he gets mad at Lucy or something and then Gael walks by or something and he remembers Lucy and the first time they came to Narnia and such. Different parts in LWW. Not a flashback or something but idk, him just thinking about things and it makes him feel differently.

Aw she's so cute and looks very sweet. I cannot wait to see her portrayal in the movie.
Glenstorm the Great- That would be kinda weird if she was the future Lady of Green Kirtle. I wouldn't see the point but it depends on how her character plays out.
