It would feel weird and too out of place for a Narnia film (with pretty much all European accents) to have someone who spoke with an American accent. Besides, I've never imagined any of the characters with different accents, and just thinking about it makes me go insane. :-s :-o
The filmmakers use pretty good dialect coaches so it wouldn't really matter.
Turkish Delight wrote:A_Narnian_Ship I liked your coment. She should have no accent and mabey be american. That would add a twist to the movie and cause a girl from the u.s.a. to get a chance to be in SC and not have to be from the UK. It could also be one of the reasons the bullys tease her. She is considered an outsider to them. What do you guyes think?
I had actually thought about that before, it's a very good point to make about why she's bullied maybe her father's in the American army and in VDT she was collecting scrap metal.

People. What really matter isn´t how old she will be or how she will look, or if she has the accent, what matters is that she can act very well! ;)

^ I mean, that is important, but picture this perfect_jill_pole- some twelve year old, looking like Lucy in PC, comes up beside the quickly maturing Will Poulter, and they are supposed to be the same age! Or if she is twenty, and looks like she's twenty-five!

I think the age needs to be nice, (even though really people do look all different at the same ages), but you have to remember that girls go through puberty first, and if Jill is Eustace's age, and Eustace (aka Will P) has a tall, manly form, Jill needs to be old enough to be-ur-womanly, if you tale my meaning.

ANd yes, I want a stunning actres that sweeps us off of our feet and we look at her and say "This is Jill Pole!!"

*gets off of soapbox* :D

^^ It is importante that the girl matches Jill. and is mature, but I don´t really care if the casting peeps cast a girl that is 12, but looks like 15/16.

As long as she looks that age, yeah. I just didn't want it to be Eustace and his little sister. ;))

I don't really think the appearance or non-appearance of curls matters very much in the film. She has them in the book but they don't really feature apart from in charming the giantess which could probably be done without them. The actress must be able to believe in her character and curls probably won't help or hinder that.

Yeah, I don't really care if she the curls, I actually prefer her not to.

And like in Pauline Baynes illustrations Caspian had blond hair and Eustace black and I really don't care if they change it, it's the characters that matter.

So that means the awesome casting people are still here, so we don't have to worry about Jill! :D

I think it was walden media and diseney.
I agree. These people have been picking the actors and actrasses from the first move. and all of them have portraide the characters perfectly. So I don't think we have anything to worry about.
I think that Jill's hair should be naturaly wavy cause because she is portraide as a girl who duse not worry much about her natural apearence.
Am I right, or did I read her rong?

The studios don't do casting, they have casting directors. :)

I believe Pippa Hall did LWW and PC was Gail Stevens.
Nina Gold and Christine King are credited with casting for VDT.

But they also have to consult the production team and director who would approve the final casting. I read Michael Apted had a large part in the final casting of Will Poulter.

Oh my. I leave the boards for a day and return to many conversations going on at once, lol.

I think Jill just needs to look as though she matches Will. (whomever said it) Yes, I agree, she should have some womanly features that show a little maturity because Will has matured so much since the filming began. I don't care what her age is, but I think it will be easier to find a girl within the ages of 15-19... maybe 20 if you're really willing to push the envelope... I really don't feel that they should cast anyone younger than 15 to play Jill, though).

American accent? Interesting concept that could work well for them, but I think they should stick to the British accents the other characters have (even Caspian's accent changed to british XD) As far as casting an American girl? I'm open to the idea, but feel she needs to be something astounding :)

I want to be amazed by Jill's actress; she should have a simplistic beauty about her. I would like to see Jill Pole with wavy hair and if they want to curl it for some scenes, then they can do that and I wouldn't mind.

Acting? Unknown is best, imo. Remember, Will did have one movie under his belt, so I wouldn't mind if she had a movie under her belt also. however, I think any more than that and there's a little too much known about an actress already, so I would prefer to see someone unknown. As long as she's passionate about her character I think her acting ability would shine through. The casting directors haven't been wrong about the actors/actresses whom they've selected thus far and I trust their judgement.

wow... sorry, lol, I just wanted to give my input on the subjects as well, haha XD carry on! lol.
