I think that Jonathan Rhys Meyers or Justin Chatwin would be great for the part! :) Think they could bring something to the character that not many others could :p (Specially Jonathan..)

I'd like to bid you welcome to NarniaWeb, Carnessiir! :D You may have been around for a few months but you still deserve a welcome. ;)

I agree with you. I saw Jonathan Rhys Meyers in August Rush, and he was a good actor. I think he could potentially pull it off. I also like Justin Chatwin. He has the sort of look that I was imagining for Rilian.

Another option I think someone already mentioned in here is Harry Lloyd... I've seen him on the Robin Hood BBC show and I really think he could do a great job at portraying Rilian.

i think a good actor would be Ioan Gruffudd. He played Horatio Hornblower in the (awesome) Hornblower films.
1.The Duel
2.The Fire Ships
3.The Dutchess and the Devil
4.The Wrong War
5.Mutiny
6.Retribution
7.Loyalty
8.Duty
Also, he was in Amazing Grace as Wilbur Wilberforce, which was directed by Michael Apted(a definate bonus).

I really like Ioan Gruffudd as an actor but I don't think he would be a very good Rilian, He alsa acts in the Fantastic 4 movies and has a small part in Blackhawk Down.

I like Caspard Ulliel just from the picture of him, though I have never heard of him before.

Well I wonder if Prince Rilian will be blond (since Lilliandil is... or maybe she is just blue. :p ) Although, dark brown hair will be the dominant gene. I know a lot of people wanted a blond Caspian originally, so that might make up for it.

I'm more concerned about the acting though. :)

Yet, I have to wonder if Rilian will look more like Caspian or Lilliandil. :-\

I'm starting to ship back more towards Justin Chatwin now that I've seen VODT Caspian and Lilliandil. With their faces together Justin has Laura Brent's eyes and her face shape, Justin has Ben Barnes' height, some same features. He has little both of them which is why I'm shipping 100% towards Justin Chatwin getting the part! :D :)

What about Bradley James? He plays Prince Arthur in Merlin, and I think he would be terrific for Rilian. Besides, he's already well trained in sword fighting, he has brown/blonde hair (the blonde coming from Liliandil). I think he'd be great!

What about Garrett Hedlund? He's becoming more popular, but he still isnt that well known. I think he could play the part.

Here is a pic of him: Image

*squeal* Bradley James? He is great, a very princely guy (at times his performance as Prince Arthur has reminded me of an older King Peter). I'm not sure if I like him or not as Rilian, though...he's just so Peter to me!

But as long as we're on the Merlin actors...what about Colin Morgan? He plays Merlin in the series.

Garrett Hedlund is a famous dude! IDK if I want to see him as Rilian, even though he does have the looks for it, no after seeing some of his movies after Eragon and his fansite name (Trust me it is disgusting) no way.

Bradley James would not be such a bad idea! :ymblushing: ;;)

Colin Morgan is too Skandar Keynes for me. I can't really see him being related to Caspian and Lilliandil.

Justin Chatwin for the Win for me!! :p :D ;)

I love Merlin, so I love the idea of any of that cast in Narnia.

I think Bradley James could do a great job as Rilian, but I'm not sure they would cast him as Rillian because he's already mostly known for his role as a prince... you know, they might just think it's a little too close.

As for Colin Morgan, I was thinking about him as Rilian before I saw this post :) But I have a hard time picturing him as a prince. He comes across as really sweet and a bunch of other great things, but he's not exactly dashing, like I imagine Rilian.

Of course, I'll pick good acting over just looks any day (ahem, mr. barnes... )
He's not a tame lion, but he's good.

I really like the suggestion of Charlie Cox, but at the same time it will be a little overkill with the Stardust connection (Barnes/Cox). And the film makers want to avoid that.
I have a really great candidate here, which everybody else has forgot to mention. It's Rollo Weeks. Strange that no-one didn't even think about him.
So, I give you ROLLO WEEKS as Prins Rillian. :ymapplause:

^ I agree that Rollo Weeks belongs in Narnia! :) I just imagine Rilian to be played by someone the same age as Ben Barnes is right now, but if he can appear older that would be very great. Rollo would also make a great King Tirian though! ;)

^He's too young for the role. There's a ten year range of Rilian's disappearance. He was at least 17-19 years of age when his mother died and fell under LOGK's enchantment. Actors ages 27-32 would be more ideal for Rilian.
