I like it enough, and yet I would prefer a slightly more goofy look. Yes, I said goofy. I always imagine the Dufflepuds rather silly creatures, as judged by their planting boiled potatoes and washing dishes before supper etc. The BBC version was very close to perfect.

I agree. They were definitely portrayed as rather simple creatures.
Did he look quite serious? :-\
Did anyone see the comparison of Roy Billing with the Chief Dufflepud in the Cast and Illustration thread. He actually looks quite like it. :)

Yes. Very much so..... But that makes it all the more odd that so much of Roy Billing's natural features were hidden beneath the thick hair, bushy beard and prosthetic enhancements in that photo of him on set. :-\

^ Moving on from what i said before just there (it was a week ago ;) ) i found new reason to be optimistic about Chief Dufflepud once again.

In a video interview with Roy Billings from sometime last year he talks about his role as Chief Dufflepud and confirms that the Dufflepuds will be digitally shrunk in post-production.

Interviewer: Tell me, are you working at the moment, any upcoming projects i should know about?

Roy Billings: The week after next i go back up to the gold coast to finish off a role in the new Narnia chronicles movie, playing a character called the Chief Dufflepud, who will be digitally shrunk to about that tall (*Roy holds his hand out in front of him to indicate the height*), with one leg, a big nose, big beard... you won't recognise me. It was great. But 3 hours in the make-up chair (*Laughs*)

Not sure about everyone else, but i had been slightly worried that they would keep the Dufflepuds as human-sized characters, given that they didn't cast small actors for the roles as they did for the Dwarf roles in the first two movies, and that the set photos we've seen so far didn't seem to indicate any evidence of scale-related trickery, and that the lower budget might limit their ability to do any complicated scale-adjustments as in Lord of the Rings.

Anyway, its at about 1:50ish of this video. He does talk a bit more about the movie, though just about his general impressions of working on large-scale production and such...
