@ Courtenay: According to that famous Melburnian Dame Edna Everidge at the closing ceremony of the Melbourne Commonwealth Games! In 2006, I saw that (Brisbane: too hot, Perth: too far, Hobart: too cold, Adelaide: too small. Sydney, she called "that other place" .)

It's not just Dame Edna, honestly, possums... Global Liveability Ranking (but I see we were knocked off the top spot a couple of years ago by Vienna )
