Hwaseong Fortress, a fortification enclosing much of central Suwon (which is not too far away from Seoul). It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and was built from 1794 to 1796 by King Jeongjo of the Joseon dynasty.

(I've never been there, but I hope to visit the site someday!)

Irvingbank, Queensland, which was part of a rail system built in the Atherton Tablelands there, at first for tin mining. Someone called Ion Idriess wrote a book about it, called The tin miners.
