William Lawson, an early Australian explorer, who with Gregory Blaxland & William Wentworth, were the first Europeans to cross the Blue Mountains in 1813. There is a monument to all three of these men, near where the Great Western Highway, in Penrith, crosses the Nepean River.

Owen Tudor, who married Henry V's widow, Katherine of Valois, who bore him two sons, half-brothers of Henry's son, Henry VI, in the Wars of the Roses. Thus he became the grandfather of Henry VII, the first Tudor King of England.
