Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the vegetation sprouted from spores off the alien spaceship and the new growth looked very suspicious.
((We did have an alien spaceship pages back, right? Or was it just a spaceship? Does anyone care about continuity? ))

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, with so much happening lately, no one remembered the spaceship, so the vegetation didn’t cause a panic.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately not only did the sprouting vegetation look weird, but the "aliens" in the spaceship seemed suspiciously familiar....

Fortunately the "Aliens" just came, harvested the vegetation, and left.

Unfortunately, even though the aliens were benevolent, their spaceship engines emitted a high pitch whine that drove all the dogs in the neighborhood into a frenzy of barking.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately the so-called aliens, themselves, were so frightened of dogs barking at them, that they crashed the space craft before they got too far.

Unfortunately, the electrical unit of their spacecraft exploded into a giant, semi-sentient ball of flame upon impact.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, when the mess was cleared up & the remains of the occupants of the spacecraft recovered, the so-called "aliens" were found to be the missing astronauts & prisoners who went missing some tens of pages back.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, it was just as well their memories were lost, so that they could not spoil the ending of the story.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the authors of this thread didn’t know what the end of the story was either.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, the aforementioned authors contained enough creativity collectively to come up with the beginning of a new one.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately at least one of the authors was distracted by other pressing matters such as droughts, koala habitats & dwindling cattle stock.

Unfortunately chewing eucalyptus leaves, so beloved of koala diets & sniffing eucalyptus oil infused steam, is savoured only by those with heavy colds.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, scientists and entrepreneurs love a good challenge, and finding new uses for eucalyptus sounds like just the ticket!
