Diamonds. They feature in so many rings, regardless of the main gemstone.

Rubies or Sapphires?

Sapphires, only because they're usually blue.

Pearl or coral?

Pearl, because they can be cultured, & I do believe that we have a duty to look after coral reefs.

Topaz or emerald ?

Emerald, because green is my favourite colour.

Spring or autumn?

Autumn.

Iron or platinum?

Iron, because it is one of the components of steel, coal being the other, which is needed for much of national infrastructure. Platinum is a very expensive element which is used mainly for decoration.

Silver or Gold

Silver.

Cakes or cookies?

Cakes.

Detective shows or period dramas?

Period dramas.

Rain or snow?

Snow, only because we very very rarely get snow here.

Piano or guitar?

Piano, because I can play it. Never could get the hang of changing chords on a guitar (though I have tried).

Jazz or rock?

Jazz, because I have a better chance of remembering the tune.

Trumpet or Clarinet?

Clarinet.

Red or pink?

Red

A pebble in your shoe or a broken shoelace?

A broken shoelace, I think it could be easier to locate and remove than a pebble which could move around in my shoe.

Sunflowers or Roses?

Roses.
