You spoiled her too much because she was soooo cute! ;))

I love dachshunds! I was going to get one when I was researching getting a dog, but those and chihuahuas have such problems with their legs--they can jump off the couch, onto the floor and break one of their little legs! They are so fragile!

I know, they are fragile.....but I think they are so worth it. I don't like chihuahuas very much, but dachshounds, those cute floppy ears, their little legs and long bodies :ymdaydream:

I entered Lucy into a guinea pig photo contest, the theme is autumn, after all the pictures are submitted, I'm not sure what the deadline is, people will vote for the best picture and the one with the most votes wins :)

my humble contribution :)

I don't think I will win because the other pictures are so much better :p but it is fun to participate :D

It was such a hassel to take the picture though. Lucy was always chewing on the leaves and running around! But I'm sure wild had a lot of fun! :D

she was a little monster, I took about 20 pictures at this is the only really decent one :p

Lucy has a very ardent admire, a little too ardent I think :p . My niece who is a year old, just LOVES Lucy, but she doesn't really understand that she has to be gentle with her, but she still really loves her and laughs whenever Lucy is around. One just has to be careful to watch her or else my niece tries to pull Lucy's fur out :p but if you are watchful and make sure my niece is gentle then Lucy actually enjoys her company :)

Ah, that's so sweet! Except for the fur-pulling-out part! ;))

Well, we have discovered that, although Chester is from West Virginia (as far as we know), he belongs in the desert. The poor thing is having a hard time with the cold. I have had to put a heating pad in his crate, under his blanket; or he sleeps with me, under the covers; or he lays in the sunshine that comes in the back door.
Teyla, who was born in the desert, has no problem with the cold! (However, she has a rough coat, where Chester has a smooth one).
My poor Chester is going to have a rough winter!
I am thinking of getting him a sweater for when we go outside when it gets really cold.

awwww poor Chester :(

we've been adopted by a really sweet and pretty cat, my mom says we can't keep her, but she comes to our doorstep at least twice a day and De and I always feed her when she comes by. It's a really pity we can't have her, she is so sweet and beautiful :( oh well

She is a very pretty cat!

How would Lucy feel if you brought in a cat of all things? ;))

Ok, so I bought a gerbil the day before yesterday. He's so cute! (I'll have pics up soon). He's light tan with a white stripe on his head. My problem is naming him. I posted this on facebook and got quite a few different options. My two favorites are Winston and Trumpkin. I also like Bertram.
(I have my two dogs, Teyla--from Stargate Atlantis; and Chester)
(I like all things British; Stargate; Disney; Narnia (of course); classic literature)

Speaking of the dogs, Teyla just likes to watch the gerbil; Chester wants to eat him. Chester tries so hard to get to his cage. I have to be VERY careful when handling the gerbil!

Pictures of Pumpkin (I finally decided on a name):

The dogs finding Pumpkin very interesting! ;))

Today he was focused on jumping up and grabbing a hold of the screen on the top of his cage. I have never seen a gerbil jump so high! ;))

^^^Oh trust me gerbils can jump really high! Cinnamon once nearly cleared the wall of an 18 inch tall box. She was hanging on to the edge, but couldn't get her back feet over. After that I started putting a cover on the box when I cleaned their cage.

My sister wants to but our artificial Christmas tree in the living room. We are trying to figure out a way to keep Aravis away from it. Anyone have any tips? There isn't anyway to shut her out of the living room unless we shut her in somewhere else.
