Do not. Too much of a cheapskate, but choose 'specialness' in gifts in other ways.

Do — also in the past, as now that I have a job with very variable shifts, I can't guarantee I'll always have the same night off every week for rehearsals (most decent choirs won't allow you to sing in their concerts if you don't attend a minimum of 80-85% of rehearsals). But I did sing in choirs for many years and hope I may be able to again in the future. Meanwhile, I still sing a lot in my own time.

Recycle last year's Christmas decorations, left over unused wrapping paper, Christmas bon-bons (crackers), etc before buying new items?

Do — my closest friend from church, who's essentially my "other mother", and I email each other just about every day. (And back when I was in high school, before we had the internet, my best school friend and I used to write each other letters every week or two after she moved to another part of Australia.)
