The Haiku Game

Welcome to a new game, never played on NW before! This may be more complicated than our typical game, but if you enjoy and understand anything about writing and poetry, you just might enjoy it. :D I got the concept from another forum.

This game is called the Haiku Game. In each post you must write a Haiku (or Tanka, if the question is too difficult to answer in Haiku). You can read the links for more information, but for a quick overview, a Haiku is a poem with a syllable count that goes like this: 5-7-5. Tanka's go 5-7-5-7-7.
I'll take care of Person #1. ;)
Person #2 comes along, and answers my question with a Haiku or Tanka, and then asks a new question for the next person to answer via poetry.
Person #3 answers the question Person #2 posted, with a Haiku or Tanka, and then asks a new question.

See? If you're intimidated by this game, feel free to sit by and watch for a few posts. In the end you may decide it's a game you're not comfortable playing, and that's fine. :) If you do play, rest assured that we don't ask perfection (and I haven't written much Haiku myself!), and, keeping in mind that this is just a game, we mainly ask that you just keep close watch over the number of your syllables. :)

The moderators reserve the right to close this game at any time.

Join this game my friend,
It's more fun than you can guess
I hope to see you.

The heart within us
Is tender and quite complex,
Even the wisest
Cannot fully explain it;
Love is past comprehension.

On the ocean bed
Lurk the huge crabs and huge clams
So don't go below!

(I hope I did that right!)

The sky far above
Must stretch from each horizon
And reach round again.
