Cynthia tilted her head. "Is it a hologram named Jinx, or is it a hologram that we have to jinx? How does one go about jinxing a hologram?"

"Well, given our previous experience here..." Neal turned and walked to the center of the room looking around at the glass roof. Well, this better work or I'll never be able to live this down.

After clearing his throat, the Darkling spoke. "Calling Jinx the Hologram. Can you here me?"

Delia waited, looking around the top of the room.

"I think you struck out on that one," she finally said. "I don't think Jinx is a person in this case."

"Figures." Neal said with a sigh before examining the room once more to try and find any other clues.

"Well, jinx as a verb means to bring bad luck upon something," Cynthia said, thinking aloud. "How would you bring bad luck to a hologram? Further, why does this mysterious cartographer want us to do this?"

She took a turn about the glass-enclosed room, tapping her finger on her chin.

"I wouldn't be surprised if the hologram is somewhere in this room... don't people often project holograms onto glass?"

Delia shook her head.

"I doubt it," she said, beginning to pull a few gadgets off of her belt and attach them to each other. "This room doesn't have any projecting equipment; just the lights under the table. Going with the bad luck thing, there's been plenty of that. Thirteen guests gather on Friday the 13th under a full moon...so you're bringing bad luck to bad luck. There's already a ton of bad luck going around. The cartographer is probably the Mother Board, especially if the Mother Board holds the data for the hologram. It's almost as bad as trying to use an Apple program on a non-Apple computer."

Neal meandered back to where Delia and Cynthia were standing once it became apparent that the former was doing... something.

"So, do you think you have something in that belt of yours that could help us deal with Mother?"

Delia looked down at the pieces in her hands, then back up at Neal.

"I've done everything I can to help you," she finally said. "But it's getting to the point now where, if I don't do anything, I am likely to die. Which wouldn't really be an issue, if it weren't for the fact that curating a body is one of the hardest things to do in the universe. If I cross the Styx now, I can work my way back to Ditto Town and try to figure it out and help from there. Once I connect these, I'll have about a twenty minute window to complete the jump. Until that time, I'm all yours, but I can't put this off any longer. I've reviewed everything I know about the situation, as I see it, so at least you have that. And you have me, for just a little longer. Hopefully the Mother Board will count that as a death to give you three some more time. You've got to be close to figuring it out."

"Well, you've been of great help and pleasant company for this... outing. Even if Mother Board tries to stop you, I'm sure you'll figure a way back." Neal said with a half smile before turning back to the maps.

After staring at them for a while, the Darkling finally spoke. "This sign that says "go home" is pointing back towards the mansion, though there is only one picture of it that is fully visible. Gus talked about meeting someone and it didn't matter where we went..."

"Well, I suppose it's the most home-like place to be found in this forsaken piece of land," said Cynthia. "Let's go, then. And perhaps we should look for some mirrors to break and ladders to walk under while we're on the way."

Delia nodded, and they started walking.

"Where have we not gone, yet?" she mused. "There's got to be somewhere that we missed."

"The Mansion/observatory... Glenda's house... Gus's house/hut/thing... that glass room... the only places we haven't been are the little clumps of trees and the well outside the house." Neal said glancing over at Delia.

"The well--exactly. Remember what Selena said? Didn't she say it was dry?"

"Perhaps you should try jumping down it, Mr. Decker," Cynthia said brightly. "It might contain a portal leading us home."

"Or we could just throw a rock down it," Anna suggested, rolling her eyes.

"I'm much more inclined to go with Anna's idea, personally." Neal said as he walked over to the stone well. Glancing around the perimeter, the Darkling picked up a loose rock from the edge and held it over the black opening.

"Here we go..." with that, he dropped the rock into the well. A few minutes later the unmistakable sound of a rock hitting the earthy ground echoed back to the surface. "Well, it's still empty and has a bottom at least."
