Timeline

Actually, the vortex species put themselves into "permanent" hibernation to avoid more bloodshed of their species and the elves species. There was a BAD leader Vortex that instigated the Vortex/Elf war. The war was over the Magnecrystal. The Vortex wanted it, the elves wouldn't give it to them. It was a really bloody, messed up, pretty pointless war and a group of vortex overthrew the bad "hive mind" Vortex (the leader) and a GOOD leader Vortex was appointed.

He tried to make peace with the elves, but there had been fake peace offers before and the elves didn't trust the vortex species. So to avoid further bloodshed the new leader Vortex used his hive mind capabilities to put the entire species into a permanent hibernation.

But the hibernation wasn't so permanent because the Vortex missed one of the species. So slowly, over time, this Vortex usurped the power of the old leader vortex (which killed the hibernating old leader Vortex) and awoke the species from hibernation. Then the new leader Vortex (bad again) called out to the crystal and woke IT up. The elves had lost it, but when the crystal awoke they found it again.

Hence, Crisis in the Snow

It doesn't matter how long they were hibernating, if that helps at all. Just for a thousand years at least, til everyone forgot about them.

Timeline

I realized with my edit that I missed something, as Booky pointed out--I put the Time Lords AFTER the elves, which directly contradicts the text of my note. So, anyway, it should look like this:

Ancient Era
Due to sparsity of reliable records, the details of the Ancient Era are conjectural.
Date Unknown
The Fountain is built by an unknown entity/entities in the middle of the ancient landscape before any known sentient lifeform inhabited Dittotopia.
c. 2500 BES
Time Lords settle Dittotopia and construct an underground city.
c. 1000 - 500 BES
300-year Time Lord-Rakatan War.
Time Lords and Rakatans are wiped out, along with every other advanced civilization in the Ditto Galaxy.
After Elven Settlement
0 AES
The Elves appear on Dittotopia and begin to settle the planet.
c. 4500 BES
The Vortex Hive is placed in hibernation on the northern mountains.
c.500 BES
Human Civil War (a.k.a. The Aftermath)
182 AES
Ditto Town founded by humans from the planet Columbia

To answer your question, NN, the timeline has had the era of the Time Lords, then the era of the Elves, and finally the era of Men. There were no men on Dittotopia point blank in the earlier ages. Even once they showed up, they wouldn't have known about the elves, anyway, because the elves were very reclusive. Even in SO (510 AES), only five elves are seen, and one of them only by the three younger Jedi (Astri, Emere and Sholi), and none of them really mentions that there actually is a settlement, so this wouldn't mess up your story at all. The elves don't really become obvious as a settlement until the mid to late 1400 AES.

Ooooh okay, Lady A. Yeah, that clears a lot up. The Human Civil War and the Vortex needs to be edited to be "AES" instead of "BES" though.

Also, it makes no sense for the Human Civil War to be so much earlier than when Ditto Town was founded, especially if, as NN said, they met up with the Columbians.

I would say The Aftermath should take place only a decade or so before the Columbians.

Just thought I'd comment that you might be more successful in finding people to do a more original rplay. Lately rplays based in established canon like Narnia, Middle-Earth etc. are not especially popular. Just a suggestion!
