So, I am not the computer game sort of person...
...but I love Harry Potter and I am going to go get a Pottemore account right now!!!
How did I not hear about this until now? I need to get on NarniaWeb more frequently, apparently.

Congratulations to all you Slytherins out there. . . Although. . . if Ravenclaw had as many members as you Slytherins. . . we probably would've won.

Re: Pottermore!
I'm Slytherin. I've contributed maybe 15 points. But being from the House I get to share in the reward. We get to view the first few chapters of CoS before the other Houses. YES!
EDIT: It's only a 24hr advantage.

Re: Pottermore!
Apparently my wand is very similar to He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named's wand. Both are made out of yew and have phoenix feather cores. Mine is 10 and 3/4 inches and resonably supple. Can anyone give me the dimensions for Voldemort's?

Tom Marvolo Riddle: Yew, Phoenix Core, 13 &1/2 inches
Source: http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Tom_Riddle%27s_wand
My guess is that it was probably "Unyielding" or "Brittle."

Re: Pottermore!
I loved Gnome Tossing! I died laughing when one of mine fell in the puddle and (apparently) drowned . Overall, the first four chapters of CoS have been more interesting than ALL of book one (save for getting sorted and getting a wand. . . .which will be tops for a long time ).
I also thought that the information on the Malfoy family was intriguing. I speak fluent French, but never put together that Malfoy is similar to Mal Foi (the French for "Bad Faith"). Such an intriguing family!
So amped for new material, for the rest of CoS, and for the rest of the books!

Re: Pottermore!
degnoming was so difficult for me at first. My mouse seemed to not be in sync with the gnome and I kept throwing them in the wrong direction. It was definitely the best "game" so far!

Re: Pottermore!
At long last, I finally joined Pottermore. I'm AvisRose14525, I'm in Hufflepuff like my sister, and I have a 12 and 3/4 hornbeam wand with a core of dragon heartstring. (Which is almost the same as Ollivander!)
The most difficult thing for me has been the de-gnoming, as well as Potions. Stirring is harder on a touchpad. But I did manage to keep the pudding in the air on the first try!
EDIT:
Does anyone have any tips on brewing Wide-Eye Potions? I've ruined at least two cauldrons because I just didn't have enough time. Is there anything that's easier? I've already done the Cure for Boils three times.

Re: Pottermore!
I finally (after two other days of trying, probably last week) figured out how to do the de-gnoming!! Did any of you get any of them over the stump? I did two or so times, I think.
At first I did the practice one a lot (aka Cure for Boils). When I felt decent at that, I did it for real... a bunch. Other than that I've only done Antidote to Common Poisons and Herbicide. In my mind, they are the easiest. Every time I try to do another kind I blow up the cauldron. But maybe it'll be different for you... each person is different. I've had some people tell me one kind was easy, only for me to blow up the cauldron on it. So... *shrugs*
My stats:
Brewed: 97 potions
a) Cure for Boils: 59
b) Antidote to Common Poisons: 16
c) Herbicide: 22
(don't know if that helps any. I'm just showing you that we all do the same ones... and more than just three times! there are limited options on what to brew )
Tip: if you think you're gonna blow one up, use the pewter one... it costs less money to replace. or, if you see it about to blow up, hit "back" and start over.

Re: Pottermore!
Yeah, I never brew potions. You can earn points a LOT quicker by just doing a wizard's duel (which is my preferred method of gaining points for RAVENCLAW!!!!!!!!!!!)
Anybody know when the rest of CoS will be out?

Not a clue, sorry!
And as for you dueling a lot... that's fine! I do both, but get more points with potions. So it evens out! GO CLAWS!
One question, though... how is dueling quicker? I mean, you usually have to wait for the other person to get back to you. the only way it'd go fast, is if you were both on at the same time.

If you just click on one of the houses under "Challenge a House" you usually get a response to your duel in less than 1 minute.
