Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory(video game)
Guard:(after being taken captive by Sam at the ISDF Building) Who are you?
Sam Fisher: I'm the good guy here to save your world.
Guard: I thought I was the good guy?
Sam Fisher: No, no - you're the side with the super secret underground base and I'm the guy who's trying to break in to the base which makes me the good guy.

Irving Lambert: Looks like there's an active alarm system...
Sam Fisher: Let me guess - three alarms and it's over?
Irving Lambert: Of course not! This is no video game, Fisher.

These are some of my favorites ;)

"I know not what WWIII will be fought with, but WWIV will be fought with sticks and stones" ~Albert Einstein

(From the movie Major Payne (1995))

Cadet Alex Stone: It's slippery!
Major Payne: Slippery he say. You think Charlie cares anything about slippery? The only thing he know is to slip your throat. What if this were a life or death situation?
Cadet Alex Stone: But it's not a life or death situation.
Major Payne: [Pulls out grenade and pulls the pin] It is now.
Cadet Alex Stone: Oh come on, it's just a dummy grenade.
[Major Payne tosses the grenade into some trees. It explodes and Alex Stone dives into the mud]
Major Payne: Who's the dummy now?

I actually have quite a few, but here are some of my favourites.

-All that is required for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing
But what is liberty without wisdom, and without virtue? It is the greatest of all possible evils; for it is folly, vice, and madness, without tuition or restraint.
-Justice is itself the great standing policy of civil society; and any eminent departure from it, under any circumstances, lies under the suspicion of being no policy at all.
-There is but one law for all, namely that law which governs all law, the law of our Creator, the law of humanity, justice, equity - the law of nature and of nations.
-Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it.
-What ever disunites man from God, also disunites man from man.
-When bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, an unpitied sacrifice in a contemptible struggle.
-Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays instead of serving you if he sacrifices it to your opinion.
—Edmund Burke

-You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.
-Sure I am of this, that you have only to endure to conquer.
-A love for tradition has never weakened a nation, indeed it has strengthened nations in their hour of peril.
-Kites rise highest against the wind - not with it.
-One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!
-Never, never, never give up.
-Study history, study history. In history lies all the secrets of statecraft.
—Sir Winston Churchill

Life without a friend is death without a witness. - Eugene Benge

If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you. - Winnie the Pooh

Involvement with people is always a very delicate thing - it requires real maturity to become involved and not get all messed up. - Bernard Cooke

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within. - Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them? - Abraham Lincoln

A learned blockhead is a greater blockhead than an ignorant one. - Unknown

A few by Albert Einsein:
Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school.
He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed.
Any fool can know. The point is to understand.
I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.
No, this trick won't work... How on earth are you ever going to explain in terms of chemistry and physics so important a biological phenomenon as first love?
Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing stripes with plaid comes easy.
Nature shows us only the tail of the lion. But I do not doubt that the lion belongs to it even though he cannot at once reveal himself because of his enormous size.
The theory says a lot, but does not really bring us any closer to the secret of the Old One. I, at any rate, am convinced that He does not throw dice.
I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details.
If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

That's enough for now. I kind of collect quotes... :ymblushing:

The Hunt for Red October:
(Shootout in the missile room)
Captain Ramius: Hey, Ryan, be careful what you shoot at. Most things in here don't react too well to bullets.
Jack Ryan: Right.
(Moves closer to enemy, who fires several shots at him)
Jack Ryan: *I* have to be careful what *I* shoot at?

Jack Ryan: (to himself) "Ryan, some things in here don't react well to bullets." Yeah, like me. I don't react well to bullets.

When I call on Jesus, mountains are gonna fall
'Cause He'll move heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call."

Yes, I love both of those. :)

More quotes:

"Remember, no one can make you feel inferior without your consent." - Eleanor Roosevelt

"There are two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though every thing is a miracle."- Albert Einstein

"You were born an original. Don't die a copy." -Unknown

"You know what your problem is. Miss, Whoever-You-Are? You're chicken. You've got no guts. You're afraid to stick out your chin and say, "Okay, life's a fact!" People do fall in love. People do belong to each other...You call yourself a free spirit, a wild thing, and you're terrified somebody's going to stick you in a cage. Well, baby, you're already in that cage, you've built it yourself. And it's not found in the west by Tulip, Texas or in the east by Somali Land; it's wherever you go, because no matter where you run you'll always end up running into yourself!" - George Peppard, Breakfast at Tiffany's (That was written from memory... :ymblushing:. )

For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone.
People, even more than things have to be restored,
Renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed;
Never throw anybody out.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

-Sam Levenson (Often quoted by Audrey Hepburn)
"To know the road ahead, ask those coming back."

"Live as if your were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."

"Um, I'm trying to think of something to tell you. You probably know more about me than I do." - My friend to me, because it is nearly impossible for one of us to tell the other something we don't already know.

Lovely thread! :)

Hmm, I'll have to go dig up my quote file, but here's one of my favorites, by Mother Teresa:

People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Be good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end it is between you and God. It was never about you and them anyway.

My motto is a quote from Ben Franklin:

"If you would not be forgotten
as soon as you are dead and rotten
either write something worth reading
or do something worth writing."

Book Quote: "I am a women, when I think, I must speak!"~Rosalind, Shakespeare's As You Like It

Movie Quote:"Mr. Laurence! One doesn't shout at ladies as if they were cattle. (Yells) My apologies!" ~John Brooke, Little Women :-$

TV Show Quote:
"You're fleeing from the FBI with a suitcase full of nothing?" ~Myles Leland III, Sue Thomas FBEye =))

Song Lyrics: "I know you came for the pretty and the plain/I hear you calling out my name/I know you came for the sinner and the saint /And I will never be the same" ~ The Pretty & The Plain, J.J. Heller

There are tons more, but I'll save those for another time :-)

Arsenic and Old Lace:
Dr. Einstein: At least people in plays act like they've got sense.
Mortimer Brewster: Oh, you think so? Did you ever see anybody in a play act like they got any intelligence?
Dr. Einstein: (agonizing) How can somebody be so stupid!

Mortimer Brewster: The name Brewster is code for Roosevelt.
Teddy Brewster: Code for Roosevelt?
Mortimer Brewster: Yes. Don't you see? Take the name Brewster, take away the B, and what have you got?
Teddy Brewster: Rooster!
Mortimer Brewster: Uh-huh. And what does a rooster do?
Teddy Brewster: Crows.
Mortimer Brewster: It crows. And where do you hunt in Africa?
Teddy Brewster: On the veldt!
Mortimer Brewster: There you are: crows - veldt!
Teddy Brewster: Ingenious! My compliments to the boys in the code department.

"While I'm waiting, I will serve You
While I'm waiting, I will worship
While I'm waiting, I will not faint
I'll be running the race
Even while I wait." ~ John Waller
