Various Vacations: departures and returns

I'm home, safe and sound. This is my last week before school starts, so I'm stocking up on sleep and books. To top everything off, my sister flew home from Washington to surprise me! She was at the Chicago airport when I flew in. It was great.

What fun, Elanor! I went to Washington D.C. for the first time last spring. It's a really neat place.

And yes, D.C. was wonderful - it was so thrilling to actually be in such an important place, with so many important things and people. And it was gorgeous.

I'll be gone for about a week. I'm taking a little vacation. I'll miss all of you!

Ooh, and I just remembered, I have another short trip coming up. My family (minus my two oldest brothers) are going to spend the weekend in Chicago. We love to visit there, and since we live close by . . we're going to do tons of shopping and walking around, and it'll be lovely. September 2-4, I believe.

My trip is cancelled. I'm really sad about it - but we're going to San Diego, and we had to buy a new car, and a lot of expenses recently. So oh well.
