Happy Birthday - Round Two!

Re: Happy Birthday - Round Two!
Happy belated birthday greetings to jo and EtJ. Hope your days were awesome!
Those are pretty lilacs, jo. They are blooming in abundance around here.
And even the heavens observed your birthday, with a transit of Mercury across the sun.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Thank you, stargazer! And about the transit ... I only wish we had a solar filter for our telescope so we could have actually viewed Mercury crossing the sun.
Yes, indeed, a very Happy Birthday (love the colours, Glimmie!) to Varnafinde and PrincessRosario.
How about a lovely mallorn-leaf cake (and cupcakes to match ) ...
(And the name of the cake company cracks me up. )

Varna!
Sorry I'm tardy in this, but hoping SnowAngel, Lady Courage and Rising_Star each had a wonderful birthday yesterday!

Re: Happy Birthday - Round Two!
Thank you so much! I had a family breakfast at a restaurant, then arrived at work to find red balloons attached to my desk and a lovely vase of flowers. Later I had presents from two workmates, and some more flowers, and then morning tea for all the staff in my honour. Well, it was a special birthday this year. How kind they all were.

I'm tardy here, coracle , but my grand wishes for your birthday are none-the-less! It sounds like a really special day, and ... enjoy your party tonight! Sending love over the vast ocean.
I probably posted this last year too, but it's just so sweet and apropos ...

Re: Happy Birthday - Round Two!
Thank you!
I celebrated again on Saturday with a party with lots of friends in fancy dress costumes, having fun - and not a Narnian reference in sight, although in a fun facts True/False quiz about myself I asked if it was true that I had seen the house where CS Lewis lived.
Earlier in the morning I completed an 8 week programme to learn how to run, and we did a 5km non stop run!

Re: Happy Birthday - Round Two!
Ahhh! Four cakes in one day. No wonder I feel so full. Thank you, jo! Of course, it's all right to have close to the right number of candles on a virtual cake--then there's no need to burn down the house by putting the full complement on the edible version.
When my grandfather had his 70th birthday, they put seventy(70)--yes, seventy--candles on his cake. To put it mildly, there was a lot of heat coming off it. Didn't burn anything down, though.

Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away ... my days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle
