Fortunately, the people had advance warning and all evacuated, resulting in no casualties at all!

Unfortunately, the land was inhabitable for several years after the volcano's eruption.

Fortunately, an uninhabitable island is just the place to spend a short holiday so long as sufficient supplies for the time are dropped in first.

Fortunately, one of the vacationers was a rich lord, and arranged to have supplies dropped off just they were running out.

Unfortunately, most of the vacationers had food allergies to the newly supplied food!

Fortunately some government officials evacuated the vacationers to the mainland because too many vacationers, supplied well or not, was bad for the deserted island's ecology.

Fortunately there was so much publicity that another TV episode of "I'm a Celebrity get me out of here" was filmed there.

Fortunately, the tourist industry behaved responsibly to protect the island from any excessive behaviour.

Fortunately, scheduled cruises organised guided group visits of no more than one hour duration each, six times per day, to relieve waiting times.
