I like how she gets a chance to play an important part in the effort to save Archenland, in that she is the one who finds out about Rabadash's plans. Shasta is the one who brings the warning to the King, but he gets it from her.

The scene where Aravis and Lasaraleen overhears the plans, is entertaining, but for the girls it was a terrifying experience to have to keep quiet and fear to be found. Lasaraleen is quite shaken afterwards and doesn't want to do anything but go home and rest, but Aravis refuses to do any such thing and insists that they go on with their plan to have her escape.

Granted, Aravis is in a more desperate situation than her old friend, but I think this also shows her courage - she doesn't waste any time on being comforted by the other, but sticks to her own plans even though she has been through a shaking experience.

And her courage enables Shasta to save Archenland.
