Someone on this site told me that the auditions for The Silver Chair were going to take place in January or February of 2011. I highly doubt this as The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has been in theaters for less than a month and is not doing as great as everyone had hoped in the Box Office. However, I thought it was worth throwing out there. What has everyone else heard about auditions? Anything new? Perhaps these dates were the previous plan? If so, do you think they will know by then if they are doing The Silver Chair, or will they push these dates back?

By the way, I know that The Silver Chair is NOT greenlit yet. And I heard about the "one Narnia every year" thing which has long since been decided against. With all that I know, I figured that this was probably a fake, but couldn't help but being a tad bit hopeful.

but I agree: it is a bit early for this - but you never know!

Hmm...they might have secret plans that we don't know about...or aren't supposed to anyway.

But really, I'll bet if this is true that it was scheduled perhaps in the time of the "one Narnia every year" thing, or a while before Voyage came out, though I have no idea if they will keep to their plans now. Hmm...maybe they will see how it goes and have a last minute cancellation if need be, otherwise continue on with the casting? (All just hopes, of course)

I'll let you know if I find any more info, Libby! This very well may be true, and "leaked" somehow. After all, the casting directors may be in contact w/ agents already; just, the agents aren't letting their clients or the public know (in accordance to Walden's/Fox's wishes). Just another wild guess, however, it may be so! You never know!

I know, JillPoleFan565, but...I was just wondering. The person who told me about it saw it somewhere, they think it might have been imdb. Hmm...their rep isn't too good, is it?

So that makes me think it was possibly old plans.

Then again, The Hobbit was doing auditions and preproduction way way way before the film was ever greenlit.

True! Do you think this is Walden/Fox's style? Hey, what does Fox usually do? What did they do for Voyage?

Fox didn't do auditions for VDT it was all done before Disney dropped it

also walden does most of the work on the narnia films all disney did was advertise. but Fox is more involved then disney was

So do you think that Fox is possibly involved in the auditions? Is there anyone that can get to imdb? Because I can't. Maybe there is a SC listing there...?

They have yet to give this film a green light and very likely there is not even a rough draft of a script yet. So I would say it is highly unlikely that this is a valid set of auditions.

^^ But starkat, what about pre-vis? In the PC dvd (which came out Dec 2008) they had a pre-vis shot of Dragon Eustace flying over. VDT came out Dec 2010 (obviously ), two years later. Is it possible that the pre-vis for SC has been finished already? Or did they not do it for fear of how Voyage would do in the Box Office, and now, if they do greenlite, it will take longer than 2 1/2 years between movies this time??

Lucy of Narnia, back then VDT was as good as greenlit, LWW was a huge success and when they were working on the preproduction, PC hadn't been finished yet, it was after that that the series was dropped.

Oh, you mean when they were planning a movie every year, they pre-vized Dawn Treader, then PC came out and they dropped the movie a year thing, and so, in reason, SC has not been pre-vized, as it has not yet been greenlit (hope I'm making sense)? I get it...
