I guess it is true based in a recent article. It's towards the end with the sea serpent. It's attacking the mermaid city perhaps?

I hope they don't make the mermiad part too big or too much! in the book, it's only a small part. but it's already filmed, so what ever they have done is what we are going to see! but I am SO confused about what this whole battle is going to be..... :-\ :-s :) :) :)

At first I didn't plan to post here... Now I have changed my mind. The problem with these rumors is, by now so many are already dead in the water. (No pun intended.) But I could see Reepicheep diving into the water to spar with some challenging merman.

Yeah, definitely. This one is one that is thankfully completely dead. There are a few odd long standing rumours where a few lingering remnants still remain from early script drafts, but this one - no chance. In fact, the way things are going with the extras casting reports coming in, i am very doubtful we are going to even see a single Mermaid or Merman, which in a way is kind of disappointing, but is better than them going too far with it at least, which seems to have been the way it was going here.

But yeah, the "underwater battle" is pretty much stone cold dead.

It was in an interview after filming that there will be an underwater battle. I don't see how this can pass on as 'rumors" when it has already been confirmed. We'll wait and see how it is dealt with. I think it's 100% true.

DJP, can you find a link for that? I don't recall reading anything after filming that still referenced an underwater battle. :-\

As far as i recall the only thing that referenced an underwater battle, was attached to some pre-viz work on YouTube that was done a long time before the movie even started filming. Since then there have been quotes about "big pitched battles" and such, but not specifically any underwater ones.

I seriously wouldn't worry at all about this one.

I don't remember seeing this in any official interview. Certainly nothing after filming was completed. I'll second Lady_Liln's request for a link, but I'm guessing you might have misread something Damsel. :)

I don't think, having seen the trailer, that there will be an underwater battle, but it seems there will be some sort of battle! yay!

I think that maybe they will be fighting some creature of the sea, not actualy fighting underwater, but the creature may go underwater. I tink there will definately be a battle at sea :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Ding ding ding! You are correct Liberty Hoffman! At least I think so, if there's a underwater battle at all.

They seem to be taking out all my favorite subcharacters. First the Us Lion and Gwendolen, next the sea people. :(
I am not sure whether I wanted the underwater battle or not. Is it really better if they take out the sea people? At this point, I will just have to wait and see.

#:-s Well that's a relief! Hopefully this means that some of the other changes aren't as bad as we thought either.

It seems the closest thing to an underwater battle is the sea serpent. #:-s
