If a BBC adaption were made today?

If a BBC adaption were made today, what actors and actresses do people think would be in their price range/limited budget and could work as the characters?

At this point, I have no idea what the going salary for various actors and actresses is. But I have thought about what a modern BBC adaptation of Narnia might look like and it looks remarkably like Merlin.

Maybe, just because she is British, anyway, Tilda Swinton could appear in a BBC adaptation of Magician's Nephew? It isn't as if she wouldn't want to reprise Jadis, rampaging around London and being the tourist guide for Charnian palaces. And since TV programming doesn't appear to be as expensive as full-length films, it might be the BBC production they, too, might go for.
