Shasta/Cor and Corin

Postby Wind_Eagle » Sep 06, 2009 12:38 pm

I know we don't yet know if they'll do HHB, and I know I'm not the same person that started this thread on the old forum, but I thought it would be great if we continued the thread, on discussing who should play the twins, how should they look, etc. I think his eyes should be either gray or green, what do you think?

I'll go for one actor playing both roles.
Gray eyes actually seem better, I think.

I can't remember how old Shasta is supposed to be,
but old enough to travel alone atleast. hhmm...

I'll be re-reading the book some time soon,
so once I do I will give some better answers
(same for you Aravis thread)

I picture him with blonde hair almost to his shoulders and gray/green eyes. I imagine him to be about 13 years old, but I can't remember if I just thought that or it said in the book he was somewhere around that age?

I think there's slim chances of finding twins who can both act and meet the requirements for Shasta and Corin (sadly). I've always pictured Shasta with longish fair hair and gray eyes.

TheGeneral: I believe it says in Lewis's timeline that Shasta's about thirteen, but following the pattern of the other children so far, he may end up around sixteen or seventeen. :-s

What sort of accent do you think Shasta should have?

I wish Elijah Wood was still a little boy (he would've been a good Shasta)

Yeah you're right there's a good possibility he'll be older for the movie, which may turn out just fine, it'll be somethin to get used to (like the older Caspian in PC).

I think he'd have the same accent as the Calormenes since he was raised by one, but what would that accent be like.. they're different from the Telmarines aren't they? Cause I thought Telmarines were decendents from Earth pirates and Calormenes were originally from Archenland, but I could be wrong

The book never calls them identical, only "alike". There ought to be a few distinguishing features. If they could find "age doubles' for the Pevensies, I'm sure they can find two reasonable look alikes. It would totally give the twist away if Cor and Corin were too much like each other.

As to eye color, I much prefer grey. They can be cold in some moods and lights, and warm in others. (I have a brother with grey eyes)

It might give it away to have them look so alike but I think since first time we see them Corin is beat up and has a lot of dirt on his face no one may be able tell.

Alex Pettyfer:

He's 20ish and I've no idea what his acting skills are like, so I'm not suggesting him as a potential. He just looks a lot like how I picture Shasta/Cor.

yeah, he does look very good for the part, but he's just too old...
I think Corin's accent should be Irish, what do you think?

I like Alex Pettyer he would be good if he was younger. What about
Joey Luthman

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2545508/

I would put a pic of him on but I don't know how to do it yet...

I've always imagined Shasta looking something like Jeremy Sumpter. :)
If he were younger of course. The same problem with Alex Pettyer who also looks very good. They're just too old now... :(( :p

Personally, I think they should use real twins. It would be interesting to see the two interact with each other. I also noticed that some people have suggested that there should be some slight differences in there appearances, this would be easier to do with two individuals rather than one person playing two parts. Plus they wouldn't have to use any type of special effects to show them both together. As far as who should get the part, I don't know, maybe there's a set of twins out there that would be perfect, maybe they haven't even been discovered yet.
That's why I'm going to stand by the play world. I'm on Aslan's side even if there isn't any Aslan to lead it. I'm going to live as like a Narnian as I can even if there isn't any Narnia. -Puddleglum

Well if they use twins then one would get jelous of his brother cuz he is Shasta and is on screen for a long time while the one playing Cor is in for a couple scenes...
