Fresh Coat of Paint
You all may have noticed that the front page has a fresh coat of paint (still working out a few tweaks here and there to get everything streamlined and working).
Once the front page is finished up, Rose-Tree, Gp, Dot, Tirian, and I are going to dive into the forum.
I don't know how many of you were around back in 2009 when we updated the site then, but at the time we scrapped the entire site and started over with a new forum. We're hoping to avoid that this time. We're hoping instead to keep all of our members (no reregistering) and threads that are already here and just change the way it looks.
Having said that, we can't promise that's going to happen, so we want to give you all fair warning that if there are any posts or threads that you want to save, now's the time to do so!

Re: Fresh Coat of Paint
Hey, maybe I should um, post an update. We hope to be moving VERY VERY SOON! Ideally in the next few days, but no promises.
And good news! Rose-Tree Dryad is amazing and was able to transfer the posts from this site over so with the exception of this past week, all of the posts will be there.
Bad news, if you've posted in the past week, those posts will be missing. But you're more than welcome to post again.

Re: Fresh Coat of Paint
Get ready everybody, we're going to start moving today! Here is a link to the new and hopefully very much improved forum!
https://community.narniaweb.com/
We're still getting a few final touch-ups in place, but we wanted to give our most loyal and active users a head start. Here's what we'd love for you to do....
1. Get your account activated on the new site. To do that, go ahead and start to login with your username. Your password WILL NOT WORK, so select 'Lost Your Password?' Fill out the form and you will receive an email in the inbox of the account that you've registered with us here. Continue with the instructions to reset your password and you should be able to log in.
2. If you succeed in step one, skip to step three. If you cannot get your login to work, email myself or Rose-Tree Dryad: fantasia[at]narniaweb.com or therosetreedryad[at]narniaweb.com and we will help you get in.
3. Get your profile set back up. Avatars, signatures, etc.
4. This is the big one, feel free to copy your posts and discussions over from this site to the new site. We were able to save almost everything, except for the new posts in the past week or so. And unless you want to take the time to PM everyone to post in order, feel free to just use quotes, or to summarize or whatever. But make yourselves at home.
5. If you find any bugs, let us know! And if you have any questions, I believe there is a thread for those in the Spare Oom forum. If there isn't, feel free to make one.

I can't seem to get the email when the site says it's been sent... has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Fresh Coat of Paint
Should I start a thread about the new forum on the new forum itself or on this one?
For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.

I'm not a mod, but thought I'd mention. Do you have more than one email? Is it possible your NW account is linked to a different email?

If you want to start new conversations, the new forum is the place to do that. Any new posts on the old forum won't move to the new one.

wolfloversk's suggestion of seeing if it was under another email is a good thing to check. However, have you contacted fantasia or Rose about this issue?

Re: Fresh Coat of Paint
There is only one email it could be linked to, so I don't think that's the problem.

Re: Fresh Coat of Paint
Fantasia, Do I have to log off this forum first? I couldn't get the new one to work, either. Please help as I'm not all that fantastic with IT in the first place. I'll pm my details if necessary.
Unlike this forum I don't want to have to rejoin again, just like in 2009, when we got this forum. I was overseas at the time, & as far as I know I still have the same login I did then.

wagga, you shouldn't have to log off this forum first. Were you able to reset your password? What problem exactly are you having with the new one?
Some days you battle yourself and other monsters.
Some days you just make soup.
