*Update 13*
It's often difficult to keep track of Pre-Viz videos, since they generally can't be saved off to your computer and stored in the same way Concept Art can, and once they inevitably get pulled from the web it can be difficult to remember what you've seen and what you haven't, but i'm pretty sure all these are new.
http://cadzimation.com/previz_17.html
There are 9 videos in total, on the website of pre-visualisation artist Andy Cadz. Most of the content is very similar to the final cut of the movie, however there are some additional intriguing little details in there. Here is a brief description of all 9 videos...
1. The Sea Serpent is attacking the Dawn Treader - Edmund falls from the mast and Lucy uses her cordial to aid him.
2. During the Sea Serpent attack, Lucy and Gael are hiding in the cabin and find an old man hiding beneath the table.
3. The Sea Serpent coils itself around the boat. It's eyes start to glow showing The White Witch/LOTGK in it is eyes, before the serpent is smashed against a rock.
4. The Sea Serpent emerges from the water. The crew uses harpoons with ropes to try and bring the serpent down.
5. The Dawn Treader is seen disappearing into the Dark Island via the reflection in Dragon Eustace's eye(?). The Sea Serpent smashes its way into the ships cabin. The blue star starts glowing overhead.
6. Eustace collapses on Ramandu's Island. Runs to the table and places the last sword there.
7. The Damaged Dawn Treader (presumably post Sea Serpent battle) is seen surrounded by 8 other large sailing ships. The crew are then seen reparing and cleaning the ship.
8. Farewell scene - rough animatics for Aslan and Reepicheep paired with raw footage from the filmed scene.
9. The full Sea Serpent scene with sound! Combines footage from most but not all of the previous 8 videos
_________
Of all these, the part that intrigues me the most is this shot here with the Dawn Treader surrounded by all the boats. Who's boats are they? Lone Islanders? Pirates? Given how everything else is more or less in line with the finished film, this one sticks out quite a way.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
Cool pre-viz videos. I remember that the sea serpent battle one from a few months ago, until it was taken down, but I don't remember seeing all of these other ones.
Remember how in the finished film, Lord Rhoop mentions how sailors and fishermen have been disappearing due to this Green Mist? Perhaps these are the fishing boats? Maybe due to budgetary reasons the larger boats were cut? Though note the eagles on one pair of the sails... Is that a symbol of something?

Ah, good thought! That would make a lot of sense.
Whilst the entire thing of having people fed to the Green Mist for no particular reason was a pretty lame idea to start with, at least having some larger sailing boats such as depicted there might have made the conclusion to that particular plotline seem a little less underwhelming, rather than just having a handful of people in a couple of rowing boats bobbing around in the water completely unaffected by the entire ordeal. Oh well.

New finds are a bit thin on the ground, but here is a single piece by Evan Shipard that we haven't yet had on here...

I think that image looks even more stunning than the actual look of it in the film. Is that really a created image? It looks like a photo or screenshot.
The scenery reminds me of New Zealand.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
Wow, the art looks like as if it came from the final film itself. I question as well whether it was computerized or hand made.
Either way, it is very nice looking, very Narnian-esque.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
I love to see all of this concept art!
I love to see how an idea or drawing can turn into a scene or a prop!
I'm so glad you started this Thread icarus, Thanks!
I wonder if we could maybe start one for both The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian?
I Love the concept art from each of those movies as well!

I have to say, I really like the initial drawings of Eustace the Dragon. He looked a bit too... safe/nice-looking in the film, I thought, but these sketches are fantastic.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
One thing I wish we could find is more costume concepts. The few I've seen on Isis' site are all for the Dufflepuds. Very nice, but I'd like to see their other ideas for - say - Lucy's costumes. The other drawings are just of the [beautiful] finalized costumes.
Also, I love the look of the children dufflepuds by Justin Sweet - I wish we could have seen them realized in the film.
Does anyone remember if there was a shot in the movie from under the water, with the silhouette of Eustace-Dragon flying overhead? I saw one in the storyboards by Federico D'Allesandro and am curious whether they used the idea.

I remember there was a shot from overhead showing just the Dragon's shadow over the water, but I don't remember one from under it.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
Update #15
Justin Sweet and Vance Kovacs have both updated their websites in the past month or so, and with it a few new pieces of Concept Art.
Vance Kovacs
I didn't have any VDT art saved for Kovacs before, so I would say all the VDT pieces at the link below are "new", starting at image number 27 and ending at 42 (the ones before and after that are from PC, some of which I think may be new to me also, but i'd have to check)
http://www.vancekovacs.com/galleries/film/narnia/
The most interesting pieces in his collection are #27 (im guessing a recently undragoned Eustace), #30 (the albatross), #40 (a sea-girl caught in the fishing net, a subplot hinted at in a lot of the other storyboards, etc) and several feature odd locations for the dawn treader to be in (such as a cave?) which also hint at previously removed subplots from the movie (LOTGK and the underworld etc)
Justin Sweet
The Justin Sweet pieces are a bit more mixed up in terms of order (VDT, PC and LWW art all figures here), and I have seen a few of the VDT ones before, but a few are new:
http://justinsweet.com/?page_id=480
The only real talking point amongst his VDT pieces is the one of lucy coming face-to-face with a giant white albatross in the darkness. Coupled with the Vance Kovacs piece of the Albatross I am guessing that was something that was originally going to feature much more prominently in the movie, rather than the blink-and-miss-it cameo we got in the finished thing.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
Thanks, Narnian_Badger. I wonder if I just mistook what I saw!
Thanks for updating with these Icarus! The Vance Kovacs pieces are particularly interesting. I noticed several of his have the albatross (#29, #30, and #32). The Eustace ones are great - I like the concept of having him climb up the dead dragon to enter the cave (#33). Some of those locations are definitely wild - the World's End is certainly unique, as Kovacs imagined it. (#38)
I was looking at his PC concepts, too, and there are a couple pieces of sleeping dryads which are very interesting! (#6 and #8) I'm not sure how it would have worked in the movie, but I like the idea!
Also, Reepicheep with armor/cape looks very like a Redwaller.

Re: VDT Concept Art and Storyboards
Looking at Vance Kovacs' art right now. The PC artwork is great to look at. I just wish some of those scenes made it into the movie. Thought is #1 supposed to be the Lady of the Green Kirtle? I can't tell. In #26, is Aslan also bringing other forest animals to the Battle? Lucy's riding a moose, which I did not know could be ridden.
I love the visual style for the VDT pieces. It even seemed like some more scenes from the book would have been in the movie, I think I saw an undragoning one at the beginning. I think budget cuts prevented better visuals (and a different script). Reepicheep has armor in the last one, which I just like a lot.

Some lovely pieces of VDT Concept Art from Brendan Heffernan:
http://www.brendanheffernan.com/Narnia- ... oncept-Art
plus some equally nice Prince Caspian concept art pieces:

Also, there are some new pieces on John Dickenson's website spread over three albums (most of the Narnia ones are labelled as such, but be careful not to get confused by the Snow White and Jack the Giant Killer concept art - some of them appear very Narnian!)
