Originally, I didn't really like what I had seen. I felt like the head was a bit... cartoonish, in a way. almost like something you would ride at an amusement park. Then, I saw the sides of the ship, and thought the same thing. Then the sail came on, and that made it a little better. And then I saw this picture:

and now, I'm happy. Can't wait to see how it looks on screen!

What's up with the design on the sail? It's very odd. I want a golden lion's head (Aslan).

It appears to be a larg "N". Perhaps it's some sort of Narnian crest, symbol, or logo?

I think it would of been better if there were a lion on the sail but never mind.

I like it. It is so funny, I thought they don´t built so a big ship. I love the little ornaments and the winow. But I think it is to much for kids.
I´m from germany, my english isn´t so good.

I'm not sure what you mean by being 'too much for kids'. Kids know what they want. They don't want second best.

I like the ship much better now that's its pretty much finished. It really changed in look from the first few pictures.

I'm still not a big fan of the sail. (The sail still looks blue to me--on both our moniters--but like someone pointed it, it could also be my definition of "purple".) I don't like the design so much. It doesn't seem to "go" with the ship.
Looking further up and further in

I've kind of lost track of the amount of photos available out there on the internet (i gave up trying to save them all to my harddrive long ago). But i saw something in a photo today which i had for some reason never spotted before - the boats name plaque on the back of the ship:

I guess its something i should of fully expected to see on a boat of this type, but for some reason it surprised me to see it. Anyway, i just thought it was kind of cool.

It was from this set of 193 photos on flickr:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/42615185@N ... 395215620/

In that photo stream there are also some close up pictures of the mast, which show that there is an inscription around it, about head-height of the crew. The visible part of which reads "...we give thanks to the crew of the..." or something like that

There is also a picture of the Dawn Treaders long oars, on a different Flickr photostream somewhere. Can't wait to see them in use!

EDIT: Oars are here:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/ellienunan/3918180170/

EDIT 2: I've pieced together a bit more of the mast inscription: ... with grateful hearts may we give thanks to the crew of the mighty....

Well, I have to recant my opinion that the ship looks cartoony. It's very gilded for sure, but the overall design works really really well. I love it, think it will work well in this movie, and I love the excitement it's generating. :D

I was just coming about this,
I have a question I am not sure has been asked before:
The name is Dawn Treader, if you all remember the logo released some time ago it read:

Voyage of The Dawn Treader,

can I assume then that they are going to change the title of the movie to the proper name: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The Dawn Treader is on the move. I speculate she is going to be reassembled at Warner Roadshow Studios, Stage Five in the Indoor Tank. Stage Five had Coriakin's garden set, as mentioned in this article. The tank has plenty of room to fit the Dawn Treader on it's gimbal.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Slighty off-topic but I wasn't sure where else to put this. I got the image gallery for the Cleveland Point filming updated today. I uploaded pretty close to 200 pictures so be sure to check it out!

N1 well i probably wouldn't put the dawn treader on my ship. I think the only reason lewis but the in the title was because it sounds better.

cool pictures FK

Thought it was interesting; A miniature Dawn Treader. ;) I wonder if they have little people on it. :p
