Did you notice?

I didn't pick up on that, Outlier...I'll have to look more closely next time.
Lots of things to keep looking for! I'm still trying to find Douglas Gresham.

You're right! I'm sad to say that I didn't see it, but my Dad did. He said, "Aslan!" as soon as the stars came on screen, but it was gone too fast for me to see it. Thank goodness for the DVD.

WOW! I looked right at him three times during the slave sale and thought, "That's not him". I had to look twice in the picture to see it. And he's good at accents, too.

Re: Did you notice?
Did anyone else take umbridge that Lucy didn't get to use her Cordial in the movie? I was actually looking forward to seeing that... In the book she cures Eustace's sea sickness with it and is able to take away some of the pain he experiences as a dragon from the armband.
Obviously the movie removes the need for the second instance, but I almost have a feeling that there is a deleted scene where Lucy does cure Eustace's sea sickness. I hope maybe we'll see one in the Special Features on the DVD!
Liberty, thanks for the picture! Hopefully I'm going to see VDT again this week, and I'll keep the costume in mind in hopes of spotting Mr. Gresham.

Re: Did you notice?
I took umbrage that Lucy didn't get to use her cordial at all. I hope there are many deleted scenes that they should have left in...but at the moment I basically think it's a bit of wishful thinking. I'd love to be wonderfully surprised by such a deleted scene as I don't think we had enough screen time of Eustace being the whining complainer he is in the book.
I also saw the film a third time tonight and totally missed Doug Gresham. He was well-disguised. Thank you Liberty for the picture. BTW I'm still certain on third viewing that the book Lucy's been reading on the beach before her kidnapping is VDT.

Re: Did you notice?
I have a feeling Lucy did give Eustace a drop of cordial in some deleted scene. There's one part where he emerges and she asks,
"Feeling better?"
"Yes, no thanks to you."
Sounds like a deleted scene reference to me.

Re: Did you notice?
Yes, thank you Liberty Hoffman for the picture. Does anyone know who played Uncle Harold? I thought that it was Doug Gresham, and didn't think he might be one of the slavers. It wouldn't be too hard to hide behind a newspaper, and it could have been anybody I guess.
I'm sure there is a deleted scene. According to the tie-in book of the movie, Lucy mixes the cordial in Eustace's soup.
Did anyone notice how useful Edmund's torch was in the movie? He got to use it on Dark Island and in the Bell Tower, and I think elsewhere. It seems almost the most useful Christmas present of them all.

Re: Did you notice?
I noticed the torch usefulness a lot last night. Came in handy with the sea serpent. And I'm so glad that there's hint of a deleted cordial scene. I hope they add all the deleted scenes to this movie. The regular version and the extended together on one DVD set.

Re: Did you notice?
I know there has to be a deleted cordial scene!
back when people were getting to see preshowing clips of the movie, someone mentioned seeing a clip where Eustace is lying in bed and a faun is offering him soupn and Eustace asks Lucy why his mother smells like a goat.....and then Lucy pours some cordial in the soup. something like that. I can't remember who posted that.....

I totally noticed that! And I didn't even know about it beforehand. I was like, whoa, wait a minute, was that Aslan??? I think that's just awesome.
I thought maybe Lucy uses her cordial in a deleted scene, too, because the "Are you feeling better?" "No thanks to you" line felt a bit out of place. It really felt like it would make more sense if she had cured him with her cordial.

Re: Did you notice?
BTW was Eustace supposed to be puking on the ship? Maybe Lu gives him the cordial between that and the "feeling better" part. I just couldn't figure out if he was coughing or...
