Te Anau, a beautiful lake in the southern part of New Zealand (look it up on Google images), with a small town beside it.
“Not all of us can choose what we give up. The things we love are taken or are never ours at all. If we’re lucky, life is defined not by what we let go, but what we let in: friendship and kind words, frailty and hope.”

Vienna, Austria. A city large and gracious enough for the Hapsburg Empire of which it used to be the capital until 1918. Called Vindobona by the Romans, Vienna was besieged twice, in 1529 AD and 1683 AD, by Ottoman Turkish forces.

Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, and the name of several other cities and towns around the world (named for the Duke of Wellington?)

Cambridge Gardens, NSW. Somewhere near where I am, named after the original UK university city, where Stephen Hawkings' funeral was held yesterday. This famed astronomer and physicist's ashes will be interred in Westminster Abbey, next to Sir Isaac Newton.

Edinburgh, Scotland, which I last visited in 2009, when I got together with two former mods!
