Fortunately, those organising such trips insisted that no more than 300 people could be on the island at one time so all trips had to be pre-booked.

Unfortunately, parrots are not people, and so the trip where everyone brought their pet parrot was very chaotic.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Fortunately, parrots, pets or not, could do their bit for the island's developing vegetation by interbreeding with local birds, and by helping to germinate the wonderful volcanic soil.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the pets brought along also introduced a new invasive species of bugs.

Fortunately, the combined bird population enjoyed eating the bugs, which were a most nutritious diet supplement for them.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the bugs destroyed a good portion of the new vegetative growth on the island.

Fortunately, as the seasons rolled on, the vegetation regenerated, more abundantly than ever, turning the island into a nature-lover's paradise.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately an evil-hearted person was able to sneak onto the island and started making plans to mess it up.
“Not all of us can choose what we give up. The things we love are taken or are never ours at all. If we’re lucky, life is defined not by what we let go, but what we let in: friendship and kind words, frailty and hope.”

Fortunately, the nefarious scheme was uncovered by a civic minded person and the proper authorities were called to take charge.

Re: Fortunately/Unfortunately
Unfortunately, the proper authorities taking charge meant that someone would have to live on the deserted island permanently to keep law and order.

Unfortunately, the small community of geologists, environmentalists and other technical experts had to obey sometimes onerously strict laws about garbage disposal etc.

Unfortunately the tourists were expected to keep the same laws, which meant that they weren't permitted to litter the island with rubbish they had bought on the ships.
