Robin McKinley

Tomorrow when the war started

(@ Meltintalle, it would be a nice idea if we are agreed about a topic, but this particular PC is dying slowly by millimetres. It does do the job well for local use though)

Graeme O'Bree

Man on a donkey

(I presume that the subject is about a Scottish human endeavour rather than about the very famous train, of which there are at least six possible authors. :p )

(wagga, once again the preposition makes all the difference - Graeme Obree is the author of Flying Scotsman, while Sally Magnusson is the author of The Flying Scotsman. ;)))

Heather Dixon

Horace the Haggis and the Ghost Dog. :D

(Valia, yes you are right. The book was not about the cyclist but about the athlete, Eric Liddell. :ymblushing: But there are still umpteen books, even manuals, about the train, the "Flying Scotsman", my husband's first love, whether with a preposition or not. ;;) )

Mervyn Peake

The Lost Prince

I'm thinking the 1915 version, but apparently there are plenty of other novels by that title so...
