[April Fool's!] Announcing the Rules for Today's Games
Posted: Apr 01, 2014 5:07 am
Good Mortereve, ladies and gents of Narniaweb! If you haven’t met me, I am Hugh Hologram, resident rule keeper of Ditto Town. For this grand day of tricks and illusions, I will not only be your rule keeper, but also the Gamemaker. You are now in the world of the game. Good luck getting out alive, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

What? Ah! Thank you, my dear. My apologies--apparently I confused our merry little romp with the Hunger Games. Rest assured, no one will stay permanently dead, and there are no poison berries lying around. At least, I think there aren’t any. Now, where was I?
Ah, yes! The Games. If you have no yet noticed, some strange… murders have occurred in Narniaweb. This isn’t just happening in Ditto Town, the suburbs of Spare Oom, or behind the Wardrobe. It is criss-crossing the forums, and only you, ladies and gents, can do anything about it. The authorities seem stumped by these unexplained (and potentially sinister) deaths. It is up to you, NarniaWebbers, to solve the mystery and stop the murders before it is too late.
Now, here is the part I’m sure you are all curious to hear: the rules and guidelines of the games! If you pay attention, this may give you a few clues to help you on your way through the investigation. It seems that the victims are all mods, so it would be reasonable to assume that orchestration of the murders is done by a mod. Now, here is the catch: you must work as a team. There are three teams that have the advantage of access to a Host. Anyone can join these teams. During each round, you may present an accusation to me, the Gamemaker, but beware! Whoever is behind this can see your accusations, too.
Finally, just to make sure you don’t accidentally find yourself ousted from the game, let’s go over a few ground rules:
• Deaths have been pre-decided by the Gamemaker, and he is not open to suggestions. Unwelcome suggestions may be punished by Doctor Who or Teen Wolf spoilers.
• Each Team (henceforth known as "The Scarlet Alliance", "The Mustard Alliance", and "The Peacock Alliance") has its own homeroom and chatroom: the homerooms are linked to above, and the Scarlet chatroom is the Ditto Town Chatroom. The Peacock chatroom is the General Movie Discussion Chatroom. The Mustard chatroom is the Games and Blogs Chatroom.
• All normal chatroom rules still apply. You can access the chatroom by clicking the “Member Chat” button located to the left of the Community Forums logo. You can change the chatroom that you are in by using the Channel dropdown bar to navigate.
• Hosts will visit your chatroom. They know the same information, so you can ask any of them your questions. Before the end of each round, I will visit each chatroom to see if you have an accusation.
• When asking the Hosts questions, you may not go down a list of moderator names asking “is this the killer?” or any other similar ruse. Use your deduction skills. Accusations should only be directed to the Gamemaker. Accusations will only be answered with one of the following options: Correct, Partially Correct, Incorrect.
• Accusations must include the following information: 1)your team name 2)the name of the accused 3)the location of their lair.
• Each Alliance may only ask a total of (12) questions and make (1) accusation per round.
• Members may join whichever team they wish, but once they join an Alliance, they cannot change their allegiance.
• Each Team will have its own thread, which are located in Ditto Town. Please post only in your own thread. For each round, Teams must choose a representative to speak your accusations to the Gamekeeper (that’s me). You may PM your accusation, or ask me when I visit your team’s chatroom. If an accusation is PMed, I will not visit your chatroom, so make sure whoever PMs the accusation is available to share the results with the rest of the team.
• Teamwork is key. Work with other members and figure out how you are going to solve the case.
• DT-News7 will post news stories throughout the day. Keep an eye on these!
• If you catch a moderator online, feel free to ask them questions. Please, however, refrain from PMing them with questions.
• To successfully win the game, you must not only figure out who is behind the murders, but you must also find their secret lair. All mods, both active and emeriti, are suspects, and every subforum is a possible Lair location.
• The Ghosts know nothing. But they are rather entertaining to talk to.
• The winning team(s) get bragging rights and a virtual trophy. Play at your own risk.
The first round of the Games start...now! You have two hours before this round finishes! Deduce well!
