Featured RP: Sagebrush Crossing

[narnianerd]

“Thats a bit stalkerish, but I’ll bet that you have a good reason. Care to elaborate?”

[Lady Arwen]

“Saw the kid’s father get shot,” Daniel replied lowly. “Kept the kids for a while, though she’s too young to remember. We knew we couldn’t keep them long term, but we set them up well enough and agreed to keep an eye on them when we could. I still do--part of the reason why I settled down where I did.”

[narnianerd]

“So how does this affect the plan?” Abigail lowered her voice even further as she asked this question, the rocks were full of ears around these parts.

[Lady Arwen]

“It doesn’t--stay the course. We just need to be more careful and get her back home in one piece.” He paused. “What will cause us some trouble, though, is--Abe is dead.”

[narnianerd]

This new development caused her to pause for a moment, “how’d that happen?”

[Lady Arwen]

“The Marshal shot him, apparently,” Daniel said. “Which is interesting in its own right. Apparently that’s what spooked the girl, too. My guess is his job went sideways and he got caught.”

[narnianerd]

“Huh, this Marshal sounds like a real hardliner. You know her?”

[Lady Arwen]

“I’ve a feeling I might,” Daniel muttered. “Though I think I'll find out a bit more before I make any official conjectures. If my guess is right, though, you’re not going to find a better skilled tracker or fighter than she.”

[narnianerd]

Abigail smiled, “she sounds like your kind of girl. On a side note, who does the kid belong to?”

[Lady Arwen]

“Nobody,” Daniel replied. “Her pa was killed when she was a little thing. She has a brother, but I wouldn’t make the one responsible for the other. Too close in age.”

[narnianerd]

“Well now, that’s a Bummer. How is she holding up?”

[Lady Arwen]

“Feisty enough. She’ll be fine, as long as she stays put. I’ve a feeling the staying put part is going to be the hardest.”

[narnianerd]

She nodded.

“It always is, you just gonna leave her in that tent all by her lonesome all night?”

[Lady Arwen]

“What do you expect me to do, stand over her and watch her sleep?”

[narnianerd]

“I suppose that would take your stalker streak to a whole new level, wouldn't it?” Here Abigail playfully punched her mentor’s right arm, “look, I’ll keep her company.”

[Lady Arwen]

“Ow,” Daniel groaned, rubbing his arm and grinning. “You’re welcome to--just be careful. If I’m right about who the Marshal is, she’ll have a few moves under her belt, and I’ve a feeling she’s perfected the look-innocent-until-you-have-an-opportunity one. Don’t let her get away from you.”
