this is a poem based on the scene in VotDT movie when Eustace is on deck writing in his diary.
enjoy!

"Dear Diary"

~Eustace~

Dear Diary, so much has changed
Since my cousins have lived with me
We've been swept through a frame
And are sailing on the sea

The people here have no clue
Of what is truly real
I think it's the dreadful lack
Of a proper meal

My cousins only make it worse
They love everything here
And also there's a talking mouse
I hate to have him near

~Tavros~

I see the boy talk to a bird
It's the funniest thing I have heard
Rynelf and I laugh at his expense
This human does not have much sense

this is a poem based on the duel between Reepicheep and Eustace in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"The Mouse, The Orange, And The Duel"

~Eustace~

I look around, I'm here alone
In the galley on my own
I grab an orange and turn to flee
Just then someone calls to me

Startled, I stop and look around
The mouse stands there without a sound
Inside my shirt I hid the fruit
Reepicheep asks me for my loot

"I don't know what you mean," I say
I try to leave, but he's in my way
Quickly he moves into action
"I'll have the orange and satisfaction"

Gripping a knife I run away
The mouse does not make me stay
But he follows close and corners me
I'm on a boat and cannot flee

One quick strike and the orange is free
With it Reepicheep hits me
Angry now, I swing my blade
And pretend I'm not afraid

~Reepicheep~

With a smile I begin the duel
His anger is giving this fight it's fuel
I call instructions as we fight
I'm hoping to put things to right

~Eustace~

I chase him along to the ship's side
There the sea is spread out wide
Suddenly he slips and falls!
I look but can't see him at all

~Reepicheep~

Eustace peers over the rail
I smile and poke him with my tail
Now I catch him by surprise
I push, and to the deck he flies

~Lucy~

A basket tips, a girl appears
She is very close to tears
Drinian approaches and says to her,
"It looks like we have an extra crew member."

"Welcome aboard, You can come with me."
Then a smile on her face I see
She bows and says, "Your majesty."
But I just say, "Call me Lucy."

Libby, another amazing set of poems! :D I love how you write the poems based on the scenes from the movie and how closely you relate each stanza to the actual details and lines said by the characters. When I read them, I can see the film come alive in my mind. Out of this last set, I'm particularly fond of first one with Eustace. It's really descriptive to the scene. :D

Can't wait to read some more! (Oh, and sorry for taking so long to post this...will you forgive me?) ;)

I feel silly for not knowing this thread even existed until five minutes ago. I also feel silly for commenting on a poem way back from page one.

Silly or not, though, I quite enjoyed your "Lucy and Tumnus" poem. I haven't gotten around to reading past the first three pages of this thread yet, but I am impressed by your creativity thus far. "Lucy and Tumnus" specifically caught my attention because of the flowing, melodic feel to it. The rhyming was also fairly well done. It sounded quite natural and did not come across as forced.

Nice work! Keep it up.

Oh. And on a random sidenote, I had absolutely no idea that you were a poet. ;)

this is a series based on the storm scene that happens after Coriakin's Island in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"The Storm" (part 1)

~Eustace~

Dear Diary, everyone's gone mad
No worse luck could we have had
We've taken advice from a senile old coot
And now we're stuck in a storm to boot

The only condolence that I can see
Is now everyone's just as miserable as me
Except for the mouse, who sees the 'glass half full'
I think he's there only to make me miserable

~Caspian~

We sit below deck while the storm rages on
All hope of finding Blue Star now seems gone
We have to decide before it's too late
Or being lost at sea will be our fate

This is lovely, Libby! :D I love the first one so much...especially since you included my favorite line with the 'senile old coot' ! :p All of the lines just flow into each other so smoothly and yet don't stray away from the plot at all. You have a real talent for poetry! :ymapplause:

this is part 2 of the "The Storm" series based on the storm scene in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"The Storm" (part 2)

The ship is tossing to and fro
As I lay awake
I look to make sure Gael's asleep
The from my shirt the page I take

The words jump out as if they're lit
I'm determined to do this deed
In my wish to be beautiful
My conscience I don't heed

I read the words very quickly
The get up out of bed
I know I must look quick
Or I'll regret the words I read

My face changes and now I see
I look like Susan now
I reach to touch the looking glass
But everything changes somehow

I open a door into the sunlight
It's a lovely American day
As I enter, people cheer
I don't know what to say

"You look lovely," I hear someone say
The Edmund's at my side
Peter is also close to me
Both with smiles wide

I'm confused, what's going on?
"Where am I?" I say
I can't see Lucy anywhere
I no longer want to stay

My brother's don't know who Lucy is
I'm getting a terrible fright
A camera flashes, blinding me
I know this can't be right

When I open up my eyes
The mirror's there once more
I just want it all to be
The way it was before

As I look, Aslan appears
He asks me what I've done
I'm still trying to make sense
Of the nightmare that's begun

Aslan tells me that I wish
For a life that would mar
All that I've done up 'til now
"Don't run from who you are."

I'm startled awake as thunder rolls
Fear has filled my heart
But it had all been just a dream
It didn't even start

The page is still there in my hands
I throw it in the fire
If I had actually read those words
My fate would be dire

Libby, wonderful job transforming this powerful scene into a a lovely poem! :ymapplause: I really love it, particularly since you included all the aspects and details of the scene. It's that descriptiveness that makes the poems so real to the film and storyline, as well as being able to visualize the scene through the words you write. :) I especially like the stanzas where Lucy opens her eyes, horrified at the terrifying experience she just had; and then when Aslan appears to tell her she must not change. It's, as you would say 'epic'! :p

this is part 3 of the "The Storm" series based on the storm scene in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"The Storm" (part 3)

~Edmund~

I lay awake, restless and tired
My mind plays tricks on me
I hear someone call my name
I stare at what I see

The White Witch stands in a ghostly haze
Fear and dread fill my heart
But then I see Lucy here
The ghost quickly departs

~Caspian~

I toss and turn and dreadful dreams
My father is in them all
Very soon I am awake
When I hear Lucy call

~Edmund~

Lucy says that she can't sleep
I don't wonder why
Something's playing with our minds
I lay back with a sigh

this is a poem based on when Dragon Eustace pulls the Dawn Treader to Ramundu's Island in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"Following The Star"

We now set sail to follow the star
The light is shining from afar
But then we are forced to row
There is no wind to make the ship go

When the sailors begin to grumble
The ship pitches, making us stumble
Dragon Eustace pulls the ship fast
We reach Ramundu's Island at last

I like these two a lot, Libby! :) My favorite is Follow The Star...I think it rhymes very nicely and therefore has a nice flow to it, throughout! :D

this is a poem based on Caspian's speech before the adventurers go into Dark Island in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"Be Strong"

The darkness is now close at hand
It's so thick we can't see land
I look down at the crew
They don't know what they should do

"Now is the time to be strong!"
For safety all of us long
But we must not give in
With Aslan's help we'll win

"Think of the souls we're here to save."
We must be strong, we must be brave
The crew cheers, even in their fear
We see Dark Island drawing near

this is a poem based on the scene when Caspian, Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace are on the Lily Sea in VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"The Lily Sea"

~Caspian~

We row along a lily covered sea
The Dawn Treader disappears
We feel a sense of wonderment
As the World's End nears

~Eustace~

Edmund asks what it was like
When Aslan changed me back
"It sort of hurt," I simply say
My own strength I had lacked

"Being a Dragon wasn't all bad."
But it's good to be normal once more
Now that my whole life's changed
I can't wait to see what's in store

Reepicheep turns to look at us
Excitement in his eyes
I see that we have arrived
Where the water meets the sky

this is a series based on the end of VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"At Journey's End" (part 1)

~Caspian~

Our little boat runs aground
On a sandy beach
A giant wave is rising high
It's just out of reach

This wave is wide and never falls
The roar is in our ears
So we are taken by surprise
By foots steps no one hears

~Lucy~

Aslan walks toward us now
I'm so glad He came
A smile breaks out on my face
And I cry His name

"Welcome children, you have come far,
You have done well indeed."
It seems our journey's at it's end
We've done all that we need

Aslan's Country lies beyond
Behind the huge blue wave
If we go we can't return
Everything is suddenly grave

~Caspian~

"Is my father in your world?"
I'm bold enough to speak
Aslan says that it's my choice
Assurance is what I seek

I venture out toward the wave
My heart is pumping fast
But then I slowly hesitate
Doubt in my heart is cast

I realize that I've spent my life
Wanting what was taken from me
When all the blessings I'd been given
I did not clearly see

this is part 2 of the "At Journey's End" series based on the end of VotDT movie.
enjoy!

"At Journey's End" (part 2)

~Reepicheep~

I come to Aslan with a bow
And ask if I could go
The longing for His country
Is all that I know

"My country was made for hearts like yours."
I quiver with joy and glee
I am truly honored
That Aslan would choose me

"No one could deserve it more,"
Edmund says and bows to me
Lucy slowly kneels
And hugs me suddenly

~Eustace~

I cry when I hear
That Reep will not return
He has truly helped me
Through the lessons I have learned

~Reepicheep~

"What a magnificent puzzle you are."
I know that he'll miss me
But I'm too happy to be sad
Aslan's Country I shall see

I turn to face the wave
There's a coracle in the sand
I leap on board and away I go
Into the Lion's land
